I don't really understand what this program is useful for at the moment, but it's pretty cool in theory. It's the first peer to peer streaming video service, it's run by some Skype people, might actually be Priit, not sure. Anyway, they just changed their limited beta to a pretty wide open beta and gave all members 999 invites, so if any of y'all want to check it out, post your email here or pm me or something. If they actually get a ton of programming on it, it'll be damn cool, and I dig the ingenuity that these guys are going to get commercial revenue for the programming while the ISPs pay for all of the bandwidth.

I finagled my way into an account because everyone on some of the uh websites I use seemed to be really excited about getting an account. Personally, I have no idea why they wanted them but I figured maybe some of you wanted one as well.

As a user of the internet, I think there's a place for "private" filesharing, i.e. P2P. Youtube/google video allow you to reach everyone but what if you want to share something with a specific audience (like a group of friends, your family), or even a subscription-based audience. What if you want to distribute files but not to the entire internet?

AllPeers is a Firefox extension that provides this in a way too. I think it's a great idea and there's going to be more to fill this kind of need in the near future. http://www.allpeers.com/

I've only had joost for a few days now and although the programming is limited I really like the idea and I'm fairly confident if they get the audience they need we'll see the options of what to watch soar. Even now the options on what watch are decent. I'd offer invites but since you've got 999 I think you've got it covered.
