Hey Sleepy. What's really really good? I had a quick AIM chat with beez the other day--he mocked my inability to fly to Vegas on a whim.

What do you want me to do, track down my old Rhetoric professor and have him go through a PDF of this thread with a red pen? Would that convince you that you're fucking wrong? Do I need to produce a 30 minute Discovery channel segment on "Slow Learners of the Great White North?"Originally posted by Ward View PostBack to the topic.. I don't understand why some of you morons claim I use the words incorrectly, it all makes perfect sense. All of my 'complex' expressions vykromond mentioned above are correctly used. Go back to elementary English class.
So you never read "The Wealth of Nations?" You know, that small piece of "primitive" literature that's globally recognized as one of (if not THE) major work of economics in the modern industrialized world? If that's the case, again, you must be going to some sort of non-accredited junior college. Congratulations, your "higher education" years have been spent completely in vain.Originally posted by Ward View PostI'm majoring in Accounting and Finance. Accounting principles constantly change in Canada, and sometimes deviate from their usual rate of change due to unanticipated economic changes. To be competent, you have to keep up with the current updates; looking at the prior principles is completely irrelevant and useless.... There's a reason why there's a new textbook edition every year.
Please point out where this is the case.Originally posted by Ward View PostThen you clearly contradicted yourself, and now you even admit to it.
Look into a term called "sarcasm." It's in those rectangular, box-looking things called "books."Originally posted by Ward View PostGood one gal, kinda made me laugh. That's pretty much what he did, yea.

You can always learn Chinese. Isn't your girlfriend Chinese? Mandarin is relatively easy for English speakers to pronounce actually, and chinese is pretty easy to learn how to speak. Unlike most other languages there's no tenses, no conjugation.Originally posted by Jerome Scuggs View PostThis actually seems like a good call, because IMO China is rapidly privatizing/industrializing, so I'd like to be there when/if an economic boom happens, and education becomes more valued.
Problem: I don't speak Chinese
Problem: considering my, ah, slightly anti-communist views, would I be at risk for political repercussions?
As for your views, it really doens't matter. Even if you started marching for the Falun Gong, the most they'll probably do is deport you. I have a gay friend that spent a year in China and he was fine even if homosexuality is illegal in China.
Unless you plan to start a career right away, I'd also recommend Japan. Personally I think the girls in Japan are the hottest (although my bro thought the girls in Korea were hotter). There are many private schools you can teach English in Japan, and there's also a wonderful government program called JET. Look it up... they recruit from all English speaking countries. All you need is a university degree and an interest in the country to pass their interview. You get paid 3,600,000 yen/year (roughly $30,000+ USD) AND you get a free place to live in, AND you only have to work 24 hours a week. You also don't need ANY teaching experience at all because you work with a local Japanese teacher, you're just there to make sure people say stuff right. So you get a wicked experience in a foreign country while being able to teach English. It really is a great program, I have a friend who was there for 2 years. And I hear the Japanese really love white people. I saw the ugliest white people with the hottest Japanese girls when I was there on vacation.

You keep talking about this "girlfriend" of yours.. At this point it sounds more like "LOOK I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!" type of thing every time you mention her. I couldn't care less whether you have a girlfriend or not. I admit you have a lot of guts to show her you play this game, most of the girls would dump you for playing this at the age of 29. However if she won't contribute to the discussion in a way other than silly laughing, she isn't worth mentioning in more than one post.Originally posted by ConcreteSchlyrd View PostThere's plenty wrong with your grammar. I'll admit that you're not the worst offender on these boards, but when you're competing with "your dum" and "lol I told u buttsecks," it doesn't take much.
My girlfriend doesn't need to spend more time dissecting your writing--she's already looked through this thread and got a hearty laugh out of it. You can debate her existence all you want (although there are already forum members who've met her). Nice try at shifting the focus, though. Let's talk more about your crap-nasty writing and your insistence that you actually have a clue.
While you may use whatever verbiage you feel "fits in," it doesn't make sense half the time, usage-wise. If you'd pay attention to what everyone else is saying, you'd find that the majority (if not the whole) of the educated population of this forum agrees with me. In other words: it doesn't sound eloquent at all, it just sounds uneducated and dumb.

All of my 'complex' expressions vykromond mentioned above are correctly used. Go back to elementary English class. One more thing, I'm tired of seeing non-Americans argue with me about English. It's highly unlikely for you to be on my lingual level, let alone surpass me.

Forget the misuse of overly impressive words.
How can someone be "joking" you?

If your "girlfriend" doesn't think so, at least have her point out the errors. Second, I don't even try to use fancy words unlike some people here, I put whatever fits in, and sounds more eloquent.

Apprehension of essays by previous writers (if you would call that history) would probably help your writing, format and style wise. To a certain degree. I'm still not sure how that enhances your actual skills thou; and knowledge of history doesn't help every subject. Not the area I'm studying, for example.

You're basically transcending your own argument to a point where you're implying that I learn the history of every word?
The classic "lol if i wusnt a nerd like u, I cud tell u how rong u r." High fives all around!Originally posted by Ward View PostLol.,. Every single one of your sentences holds some sort of nonsense, I'd gladly reply to every one of them if I had time.
