Is it smart to buy a LG?

In my (limited) experience with LG Phones, they tend to be nice and stylish, but lacking in decent software/functionality. If you are more into having a nice looking shiny phone with not great software, then it's fine. If you want something with a bit more sturdy OS, I'd recommend either a Sony Ericsson or a Smartphone (Symbian or Windows Mobile are both pretty good). I've heard good things of the new Nokia smartphones (Esp the N95 if you can afford it).

One thing to note, the first popular model of LG phones that came out in Europe a few years ago were total and utter crap, EVERYONE (10+) I knew who had one had their's break. Since then, they are much better, so don't let anyone who's had this experience with LG phones use this as a point against getting one.

I have an LG VX8300..its a really nice phone and I see a lot of people with them. The chocolate (VX8500 and 8600 i think) is pretty bad, though..it has some issues with how hard it is to use. I'd recommend their shit..and BitPim is nice to use with it so you can put all your shit like ringtones on from your pc without paying for them, although that works on most phones

As far as my experience goes, LG phones are ok hardware-wise, and awful software-wise. Not quite that samsung-awful, but still a huge pain in the butt for anyone expecting software that is logical and easy to use.

Btw barton if you are going to buy a 3G cell the best one is SonyEricsson K800i so far. It got a 3.2 mpixel camera and loads of other stuff! Great to have when your out partying!

I use to have a Ericcson and didn't like it... I have an LG CU500 (similar to the razor) and it's great... and it has a rotating swivel camera, too... a rotating swivel camera

I just found my very first cellphone, it was a small LG clamshell.

I haven't used it in 2 years, and while I did use it, I used it for 2 years.

So this cellphone has been around for 4 years and is still fully functional.. actually, I just turned it on, the battery is still working. Jesus. I should give it to one of many friends who cannot keep a phone for more than 4-5 months.

My experience with LG is limited, think I got like 5 friends with it, and my mom had one. It looks good, is shiny and nice, but it's bad. I'm really skeptical to LG, but they're really big in Asia, so they must've done something right.

I would go with Sony Ericsson anyday.

Oh, and I'm looking for a high end clamshell mobile phone, anything except for LG, any suggestions?

I am a proud owner of a Motorola SLVR and it's a cute-looking thing, has all those mp3 gibbins installed, shoots videos, and you can even make phone calls when you feel adventurous. Best part, it's cheaper than a Croatian hooker.
