I deleted my account, facebook offers you a beaten up version of social communication. I'm lazy and facebook makes it so I don't really have to call up my friends anymore. I feel as though some of my friends are becoming 'facebook friends' and not real friends. Maybe I'm just sick of seeing people at parties or saying hi to them on facebook. The truth is if some of my friendship are corroding then its not facebook's fault, but I'd rather my friendships fall to shit because we lost touch rather than using a program because we're all a bunch of lazy cunts. I also find the new applications totally fucking retarded, a few of the new applications like graffiti are neat but for the most part its trying to corner the market in online communication and for all respected purposes it can. I've got a group of friends that i would call 'really good friends' and they are only a fifth of my total facebook contacts. I also feel like it makes all pertinent knowledge public by having a 'News Feed'. I can see what everyone else is saying to each other and nothing really seems personal.
The only way I would use facebook again is if it filtered out the useless applications and most importantly I found a purpose to have it.
