I don't think you can have it both ways on health care. The goal of privatization is not to make a system more efficient, even in practice is almost always creates more levels of bureaucracy it set out to destroy with the added bonus of unchecked corruption. The movie makes its point very clear; the system doctors, nurses and other officials have to work under is based on money. Not on helping people and definitely not on stats concerning patients, wait times ect...

From a Canadian perspective it's almost silly not to live in America for a few years if you're a Nurse or Doctor, they will give you several thousand dollars as a sign on bonus and they will also find you a place to live. Not to mention that Doctors and Nurses are making a crap load more than Canadian Doctors and Nurses.

edit: now that the Canadian dollar is almost on par with the American dollar the incentive to relocate to herica' has probably lost some interest but its still not a bad idea.

Average Canadian Nurse makes what 40k a year and the average Nurse in America makes what 60k? I would be banging hoes left and right if I had that kind of cash.

Products have generally always been cheaper in America, shit I gotta hit up Buffalo and get some sneakers. As far as gas/food/housing goes it all depends where you live.

Herica' spends more per capita for health care and gets about the same service as the public system in Canada, Big Business cares about making money and not providing the best service for the people, today is June 25th, Michael Moore makes money off telling the American people things that they should already know, and last time I checked the sky is in fact blue.

I wouldn't be helping any positive, constructive discussion about anything. How is this any different? It's not that the discussion is killed because topics like these are anti-american, it's that people from other countries (who have no clue what they're talking about) feel the need to make ignorant and idiotic comments repeatedly throughout discussion attempts. American posters get so fed up they stop trying and the european/canadian posters get so high off their own farts and condescending comments that they end up just floating off into the upper atmosphere.

I could go find facts and research the topic if I felt inclined, but my motivation to do so is severely cut down when Europeans with insecurity issues feel the need to make thinly-veiled potshots at America with the smokescreen of discussion blanketing their poor quips at humor.

My sister is paying $1200 a month for the place she's in right now, and she still lives an hour from DC. Face's gf just moved to Arlington (right across the bridge from DC) so he can give you an even better estimate of how expensive it is to live around here.
