-early morning is best, dusk is also nice

-don't jog during the middle of the day unless you absolutely have to, the heat sucks and you'll be better off (especially since you're starting) at doing early morning or dusk

-You should jog over multiple surfaces, don't just jog on a track for 20 mins a day and think you're hot shit. Your body will get used to the speed and amount of effort you would exert doing this and you'll eventually hit a wall in terms of improving endurance, burning fat/calories, etc etc

-Start off small. Jog for maybe 10 mins your first few days and build up from there, depending on how you feel after you jog.

-Are you training or just trying to lose weight?
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

Keep your jogging until next week. Stay inside while you can for now, before you melt to death.

Start jogging in the morning, say when you wake up. Not only does it help wake you up more, but you're also more likely to put it off if you wait.

Buy some good shoes. Go to a place that knows them well (we have a business here called Portland Running Company). They will be a bit more expensive, but overall, they will help you out with running and prevents injury.

          6. I don't think lazy third world countries should be allowed to jog when they are taking tips from an online gaming community about jogging. Go figure, stupid europeons.

Don't jog on busy/congested roads. 1) May get run over, and 2) fumes from the cars won't help you get fit either.

In an after-midnight round table on French television this month, Mr. Finkielkraut, the philosopher and a Sarkozy supporter, called on him to abandon what he called an “undignified” pursuit.

“Western civilization, in its best sense, was born with the promenade,” Mr. Finkielkraut said, noting that thinkers like Aristotle, Heidegger and Rimbaud all were walkers. “Walking is a sensitive, spiritual act. Jogging — it is management of the body.”

His fellow guests agreed. “It is a change of rhythm — it’s called Jimmy Carter,” said one, reminding viewers of the American president who brought jogging into the White House.

              “And Bill Clinton,” said another.

The benifits are the same weather you walk or run, you lose same amount of shit (if you walk a bit faster that is).

-jog around lakes and forests (if you have any) or on some secluded roads - nature is the shit for relaxation (make sure you don't get yourself kidnapped and raped in a basement for 10 years by some local hicks)
-change distance every week, few hundred meters will do
                -good shoes are a must
-spurt last 100m to your home
-stretch before you start running and after you finish or it isn't worth a dick...calfs, thighes back and front
                -music helps
-mornings before breakfast is optional for running with an easy breakfast afterwards (ie All-bran shit full of fibrers)
                -2-3 times/week will do
-pick a solid distance from the start, (ie 30-45mins running: this is good because as you get more fit, you'll be able to run same distance faster and able to monitor improvement and/or able to change the paths)
                -good shoes
-be consistant, after a while you will feel the need to run

good luck and post pics!

Why do I get the feeling that Jeen isn't actually talking about jogging?

The only equipment I use is a pair of Adidas running shoes. I jog two miles three times each week, and I try to spread out the days I run throughout the week (You could run every day but I'm also trying to build some muscle on the off-days working out).

I run at night-time (2200 or so) to avoid the sun beating down on me. It doesn't help with the Florida humidity but it's better than mid-day for sure. I try to keep my breathing steady. When I just want to relax I'll breathe in or out every 4 strides. This keeps my speed steady because if I go too fast I have to take more frequent breaths. When I am going for speed I breathe in or out every 2-3 strides, depending on how tired I am.

Someone said something about sprinting your last 100m or so, and I definitely recommend that. I usually have a good amount of energy left by the end of the run, so I try to get rid of it all.

Stretching both before and after running is a must.

The most important thing for me is this: when I get back from a good run my body is usually way overheated and I sweat a lot even an hour or two after my run. To solve this, I take a bath or shower in cold water. A bathtub works better, though, because in the shower I tend to heat up the air around me but laying in water keeps everything cool. After running and not doing this for a long time, I decided to try it and it works wonders for relaxing me after a run.
                    -Dave
