  • Stenciled Tshirts

    anybod else do their own?
i just whipped up a design for my friends birthday and did my first (ever) shirt this way. its convenient doing it by hand--i've done screen printing before and its a fairly long process. this one turned out kind of sloppy though...i was kind of in a rush. also, i didnt get the paper that you can iron onto the shirt, so i had to kind of clean it up free hand a bit. meh.

i google'd the methods on how to do that but it seems like a fairly long process
how much time did you invest in making that?

drew out the design, traced it onto vellum, cut out stencil, test run on cardboard, put on shirt, blow dry with hair-dryer, iron shirt to set the ink:

took about an hour and a half, but i did kind of a shoddy job.

I'd buy a shirt with Mr. Hooper from Sesame Street stenciled on the front.

A friend of mine does this quite frequently. One shirt takes about 25-30 minutes if you've got the "motive" done beforehand.

hahaha, that's fuckin awesome. that shirt might singlehandedly get you laid by a scene chick. hell, i'd do you.

there's a guy here who does that (actually i'd say he's my city's Scurvy), and my favorite shirt he did, on the front it had john lennon and groucho marx (marx and lennon, get it!) and on the back he bastardized the sickle and hammer - the sickle's handle was a cigar, the cigar smoke formed the crescent part of the sickle, and the hammer was a guitar.

further updates as event warrant. i'm going to try and make a new shirt every night to wear the next day, then sell the shirt from the day before. (saving all the design's, of course) we'll see how that lasts.

That's pretty awesome. I wish I was artistic enough to be able to come up with something, and determined enough to follow through with that whole procedure...but I'm lazy. I've bought shirts from this site though, http://www.karmaloop.com/, they have some cool designs

Also, I'd buy the first shirt too.

If you get a website and post the shirts and I see something I like, I would most definitely buy one.

I mean you look pretty talented at it.
