    Omg!

I can remember getting blisters in the palm of my hand when I played Bad Dudes on my C64!

    Defender of the Crown!

This game was so fucking awesome, your goal is to conquer all of England. You have everything from castle siege as you see above

Jousting! I were too young to figure out what this did, I always lost :<

Fencing! This was the best part of the game, I can't exactly remember what it was about, except that I won the game by doing it!

    Another couple...

Super Dodge Ball: This game was just a fun sports game. Back when Russia was the USSR our mission was to move up the ladder of countries to finally destroy the evil Russians with balls to the face. In Japan this was based on rival High Schools battling each other for supremacy. The Americans, we understood the "World Cup" idea better.

R.B.I. Baseball: This is another Japanese game, that was "localized" for American consumption. There were like 8 teams of generic people who played Baseball. The gameplay was tight and it worked well enough. My friends and I got a kick out of it back in the day.

    Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu

I also had fun with Monster Party because it made no sense and it was the funniest thing playing it with my friends.

#3) Crystalis: There was Legend of Zelda, then there was Crystalis. I felt Crystalis is everything Legend of Zelda did, only better. And I also feel that after Cystalis, the Legend of Zelda borrowed some of their mechanics to better the series onto the Super Nintendo. Even though it's in that "Cult Classic" status, it really should have been up there with the Zeldas of today. Too bad we'll never see a current or next gen version. Nintendo bought the rights around 1999 and shipped a shitty version for the Gameboy Color in 2000.

#2) Wizards and Warriors I, II, & III: The coverman was Fabio. Do I need to say more? Alright, then. It's a side-scrolling hack n slash where you play the role of a Knight in full armour who jumps around like he's not wearing any at all. The first two were very linear, like Super Mario or Kirby with a sword. The third one took a more open route, like Zelda 2 for the NES. It's fun to stab things.

#1) Snake's Revenge: This is the only Metal Gear game not developed ... or even endorsed at all by Hideo Kojima. It was more like Rambo than Metal Gear, but I loved every second of it.... because I was 8 and didn't know any better. Bad game, but good memories.

started a topic What's your favorite sleeper 8-bit game?

What's your favorite sleeper 8-bit game?

I grew up playing the Famicom system, so off the top of my head, I could think of 3 main games that I was absolutely addicted with, even though they weren't consider great games of the time. Don't get me wrong, I was also absolutely addicted to some great games too like Tetris, Super Mario Bros 1 + 3, Double Dragon, but we know enough about those games.

Let's hear about some games that others may have only heard about once briefly in the past and has totally forgot about it since.

    My top 3 favorite sleepers:

    3) Circus Charlie

I loved the sound when Charlie sat his ass on the fire when he missed, its like he fell into a pile of doodoo.

    2) Legend of Kage

I thought this game was a hell of a lot better than Shinobi because Shinobi tried to impliment too much fuckin story. This is simple, you're trying to save a princess from masses upon masses of ninja enemies. The game loops too but the boss at the end is different, you end up restarting twice.

    1) Adventure Island

This game was the shit! It was pretty god damned hard because as time goes by, your HP decreased, and the only way to keep the health meter up was to constantly consume fruit. If you tripped over rocks, lose HP. If you touch any enemies, you basically die. You can skateboard, which makes the game twice as hard because you go twice as fast. This game was pretty awesome for its time, and very challenging
