Bigger Banners

Would it even be possible to make the current banner size a little bit bigger?

If so, the possibilities of creating a cooler banner would be obtainable.

I'm sure it's possible, but I think the banners were kept so small for a couple of reasons. First of all, the ships themselves aren't all that big, if you increase the banner size, I think they'd be too distracting when you're aiming at other ships. Second, the current banner size matches up pretty well with the text height of player names. I suppose enlarging them by a few pixels each way wouldn't hurt though.

Think about the packets involved with this....it's also why .gif banners aren't allowed (moving banners) It could cause horrid lag.

Like jason said, I was just thinking a couple more pixels, not a whole bunch. Definitely not animated banners, because I understand the lag problems.
