They already hinted at this possibility in parts of Civil War and what followed it.. but now I was at my local comic book store last week and the owner said they were already putting plans on the table for a welcome back to life Captain America comic...

FUCK THAT. I wouldn't mind if they made it seem feasible he lived through the attack.. which... he does have a superior physique, certainly not to Wolverine level of healing but he could possibly recover from a pistol shot to the gut depending on where he was shot...

BUT .. they didn't make it seem that way, they had the funeral.. they buried and are making possible clones of him? But aside from a reference by Carol Danver (I think?) they didn't make it seem very likely that Captain America was still alive.

Seen the latest NW issue? After Night Thrasher was done training the rookie NW members, he pulled Jubilee aside to tell her to shape them up. She was about to tell him off but suddenly stopped and said: "waitaminute... are you... who I think you are?" Combine that with the shield he was using and if it isn't Captain America, then it's at the very least a tease.

With the role the New Warriors held in sparking the Civil War plus the eventual meeting with Tony Stark's Initiative, it makes sense for the guy training and leading the NW to be the Cap.

Yeah but when they looked in Night Thrashers grave, they didn't find a body did they? I could be mistaken. No I don't think I snagged the newest NW.. I've been slacking on the new stuff.. the store here had an awesome sale last month so I bought a shit ton (few hundred $) of trades and random indie comics that I've been busy catching up on.

I think if it was really Captain America that got shot, and he lived through it, he would have been under SHIELD care for a while at least.. and when he got healthy I can't imagine he would just escape and join up with the NW... he needs something more dramatic... at this point in the Marvel world, leading the NW just isn't enough, he's a fantastic leader and people need him...the splinter groups, defectors, broken teams and families out there, he would have to find a better way to unite them and *most likely* reconcile with Tony, but in a way that makes Tony look stupid.. I imagine some other cataclysmic event would be it .. like... the Hulk going nuts... hell maybe we get lucky and Tony dies... but with that stupid movie coming out I doubt it.

In Secret Invasion, in the first issue or two you'll find out who were the Skrulls that infiltrated the Marvel Universe and what they've done. In the Avengers books, what we'll do then, is rewind and show you exactly when they switched, what they did, who did what and where.

Oh god.. I was talking to someone else about this possibility early in Civil war. They thought maybe Tony took action in the civil war.. not only to control the superheroes of America but also to scare out the Skrulls. Which seemed seemed logical after I read the issue that killed "Elektra."

But seriously.. can't Marvel slow.shit.down. for just a few months. It's like they took last year and this year to not only use up all the good plot devices they had left but to kill off as many heroes as they could. It's really frustrating at times. Especially when to follow this stuff I have to buy like 20different comics each month. D.C. is doing the cataclysmic story approach but at least they are doing it in a manner I can stomach.

I mean hell.. there is hardly any mutants left, some of the best ones lost their powers... Captain America 'died' a very hyped up death.. the Hulk is going batshit crazy.. oh I guess I should include the Scarlet Witch rewriting the very fabric of reality on Earth.. before returning stuff back to normal, sort of ..... Fantastic Four almost broke up, Tony Stark became a dick x10 .. Nick Fury is missing from Shield .. etc. I still enjoy all the comics, but not as much as I could if I more time to digest each one of these lines. For example, I wish they took more time to develop Sentry before pushing him out there.. since his introduction and initial character building.. I haven't seem much interesting come out of him. I've seen him lose two fights already as well.. which doesn't seem very fair considering his powers.. Oh yeah.. and perhaps *possibly* the most dangerous move of all.. having killed Sentry's wife when his previous mental instability nearly destroyed Earth once already.

Anyways.. sorry if I started rambling here.. but you can probably pull what I was saying out of this. Maybe I'm a minority with this point of view...
