I'd certainly respect America alot more if that guy got in. It's interesting though: the perspective he has on things. He's actually more right wing than the Bush administration - he adhers wholly to the free market, non-interventionist political-economic structure. By the very nature of non-intervention, military intervention should be avoided at all costs because afterall, war is costly financially.

No, I'm not a white supremacist or racist or anything like that. I've never even heard of Ron Paul until I clicked on this thread. I went to his website to look at his platform, and just quickly glanced over the issues. From what I read there, I like him. No that doesn't mean he's getting my vote for sure, because I haven't read up on a lot of the candidates yet.

I strongly suggest that you check out:

See how each candidate voted and how they also lie to get elected on false promises in election campaigns.

or better yet sell me your vote, here's a list of how much you stand to make.

              Vote Obama = $10
              Vote Hillary = -$10
              Vote Ron Paul = $2

              choose wisely.
it makes me sick when i think of it, all my heroes could not live with it so i hope you rest in peace cause with us you never did

Thanks for the website; that's exactly what I needed to read up on all the candidates. I was wondering if there was such a website out there.

And for that reason, I could never support his candidacy. What turns me off the most are the people that follow him and seem to be under his spell, such as the John Birchers, 9/11 Truthers, anarchists, and white nationalists, they all adore him. People and the world think Bush has been bad? Uhg. So Panda...do you hate specific races as much as the rest of Paul's supporters or are you just clueless about the backing of this man?
This actually got me thinking the other day, and I think it has to do with party politics in general these days. The country is used to having everything pre-packaged - for instance, 90% of mainstream liberals believe in A, B, and C, while conservatives believe X, Y, and Z.

                      But what if I believe in A, X, Y and C?

Alot of white nationalists are supporting Paul because they don't really know Paul. They see the media's "paul = anti-immigration" and assume he's Whitey, without realizing he merely doesn't support illegal immigration.

He also believes in dismantling the CIA because he believes it's gotten too big for their pants, and how many people disagree? The CIA has started wars, overthrown countries, and spies on people domestically. But because Paul says things like "the CIA is a miniature government", the conspiracy theorists hop on board.

I think the problem with Paul's current candidacy is just that, though, too many fringe groups support him, regardless of whether or not they understand his motives. I think there's also a perception that Paul would "remap" the United States, which is always a good way to turn off the "conservative" (i use the term to mean anti-radicals) voters... but seriously, Ron Paul wouldn't be re-mapping, just un-doing.

Epi, I think you said Ron Paul stands for alot of ideas but you never see valid, physical plans? I think that's interesting, the reason I became interested in Ron Paul (besides him being a libertarian), was that he did have plans. He never speaks in terms like "more or less taxes", "higher or lower economy", because he actually knows how both work, and what needs to be done to actually achieve each.

I've been following ron paul for quite a few years now, and so sometimes it's hard for me to see how others can believe this or that about him.

hehe yeah Im back home in Sweden. currently writing a half term paper about the democratisation process in Singapore, the abscence of western liberalism, seeking to become a communitarian democracy etc. and all this with a strong PAP party in majority with "anti-democratic" legislations. Pretty interesting as you can tell! need to narrow it down to make it more of a science paper tho

question is, what are YOU doing? O_o

Panda, you've never heard of Ron Paul until this thread? Do you live under a fucking rock?

P.S. I'm completely serious about the running away to Canada thing guys. It's looking like a serious possibility right now.

you guys need to understand hes saying is what we want to hear, to me id be happy if he implemented half of what he says. Mostly i think what he talks about is completely contradictory that i couldnt go into detail with. Though he seems like an ideal candidate, no way the entire nation ignores an angel of a man like this. I think you guys are forgetting why Obama, Romney, and Clinton are the most popular, they arent the most popular due to their celebrity status but because of their views are most agreed upon by other people. Seems like a pretty good guy though, im gonna learn more about him and see whats up.

Umm... no, she just doesn't camp the Internet. Most of America doesn't, and will never, know who Ron Paul is. Sorry. Hell, five months ago most Americans hadn't heard of Mitt Romney, a candidate with a... slightly... higher profile than Ron Paul. [1]
