I played the demo for a bit, a while ago when it first came out. It was a multiplayer demo. I'm not 100% sure if there is even a single player aspect or not.
The game plays out on an RTS Map. You have gold to mine for resources, build buildings, attack your enemy, upgrade your army. The catch is that all your troops on the ground floor? They're real people you order around by setting action points for them to do things.
Want them to mine some gold? Highlight them and click on the gold mine. It'll give the players you highlighted a hud prompt pointing an arrow to the task site and a description of what it is. Then you bust out your melee weapon (pick-axe) and swing away at the gold. Then run to your base with it to drop it off. Players get points for accomplishing things from mining, to building, to killing.
Game ends when the enemy base is taken over and it's really a fun game to play in just how it plays out. It's free, try it, can't hurt.
