  • danes - read much?

    hello my rotten friends, have any of you read jacobsen? is danish a difficult language to learn, relatively speaking? i'm thinking about going abroad again, is copenhagen the money or should i invest elsewhere? gracias

      Seeing as how noone posted so far and that I've been to Danmark a couple of times I'll post something.
      Danish is not a difficult language to read if you already speak swedish/norwegian or german. Unfortunately it is not a language that is easily spoken or understood (at least, thats how it appeared to me) as it's not that intuitively how to pronounce everything as it is with spanish/italian/german.
      I would not particularly recommend learning it as it is not spoken by that many people and Danes usually have a good grasp of english. Copenhagen is a nice city to visit, but lacks the true metropolitan feel of other big cities I've visited so far. If you really are interested in it, I would go for it, but otherwise its a very quiet country. That said I wouldn't mind living in it.
