That's funny because I was done after my second post in this thread.
I never said I was for or against LF's post. I just wanted to express my opinion of Noah the dickface and his presumption of a coming clusterfuck which he had to initiate with his hate. Kthx

Queers... I'm planning to send a care package. How would you feel if your own country men were there when they enlisted to fight on behalf of your fat ass. Government decides where they go, but that doesn't mean their heart is in line with said agenda; but if not them then who will go when something comes up?

I contemplated this when I was thinking of enlisting rather than going for college. Saving children is good on it's own, but neglecting those who serve regardless of who points the finger is an atrocity in its own right.

Thank you for your support, people like you saying that is what makes me feel as if what Ive done wasn't a lost cause and not supported. Thank you.

What's up, duder? I'm sitting in southern Illinois, lamenting my lack of a greenery hookup and missing the "old days" of Div/Rog/you/Warpo/etc. Other than that, I'm all peachy. How about you?

I respectfully disagree. People like to paint the whole of America's army as a group of cowboys who are signing up for a legal opportunity to shoot people. You have to realize that there are a decent amount of people who sign up specifically because they have no other fiscal choice--they're supporting their families or trying to pay their way through college. The town I live in now has a burgeoning ROTC program specifically because there aren't a whole lot of job opportunities, and the Army's there with a steady paycheck.

I'm not saying it's right, but it's not necessarily someone's choice here, either.

I don't necessarily agree with Farscape on a lot of things, but I agree completely with

I do not seek anybodys approval for creating this thread. I posted it simply to present and encourage such a charity with the holidays approaching. If you do not like this paticular site, there are several others worth researching, such as the USO. I picked that one because that is the one I used while deployed. If you plan on donating to a charity this christmas season, by all means, makes your own choice (Soup kitchen, starving kids, adoption agencies, whatever) I choose this one because it touches home with me.

Ive seen 2 servicemen say in this thread that they 'didnt need any care packages' and thats fine. Some soldiers do. With the constant flow of ingoing/outgoing soldiers in Iraq, "NEW" materials are needed such as bedsheets/pillowcases/socks/etc. Don't pay too much attention to the "I need cookies and scooby snacks" because every unit has a supply section more than capable of getting any of that stuff from the bigger bases in Iraq.

The site works like this. You send your package or whatever to "Any Soldier" "Specific Unit" "APO AE *****" And the unit mail clerk decides who needs that paticular package based on if that soldier has any family/friends sending stuff.

If you support this cause, fine. If you support other causes, fine. But everybody, not just the soldiers, appreciates support, so I encourage all of you to think outside the box this Christmas, and put a smile on somebody elses face. Thank you

Edit: Please leave the polictics for other threads, and if you want any paticular names of soldiers, my original unit is currently deployed, so contact me and I will set you up with someone.

Amazing how people lost any respect for those who gave them their life.
Like those idiot pacifists who believe in peace and doesn't want to help their country in a conflict. I wonder where we would have been; if all of my nation was believe so...

You need glasses for the fine print?

And my view is not anti-American, I feel the same about Dutch soldiers, Iranian soldiers , Korean soldiers, or any soldier in this world.

I am not saying a country doesn't need soldiers as the situation is now, I just don't feel like giving ANY soldier, no matter his nationality, in this world any respect for their profession.

I wonder what you are referring to anyway, I think the USA has more business in Asia than Europe.

And face, if you had an higher education, the more reason no to get a job in the army. Unless you have the hots for symbols and authority.

I encourage all of you to do something for the deployed oil rig workers this year for Christmas.

Meh, it must suck for them to spend Christmas on an oil rig

Where have I expressed hatred toward Americans in this thread?
Da1andonly> man this youghurt only made me angry

questioning america is hating america. Comming up with this thread while thousands of people starve to death would give me every right i need to bash this retarded idea. whoever can not follow this reasoning behind his fog of pride and mislead culture, feel free to send a present or even better enlist to the army and get yourself killed. but whatever you do, do not march on the street and demand your men back because this would be hating america.

                            I hope you fucking die.

I know a friend who was an A+ student with a full tuition to any college he wished, but he choose to serve. "If not me, then who?"

know what? he came back in a casket with a drapped flag, now shut the fuck up about soldiers not deserving a lick of respect.

Sorry Ayano but these people are not draftees. They know when enlisting that their life may be put in harms way. I'll have the same amount of respect for them as any other human being, in life and in their death but giving them anything more then that would be mistaken for support for the war on terror, and any future expansion of it.
