  • Get SHOT or go to JAIL

    Prince Georges County, MD

1,600 school children and their parents have been ordered to appear in circuit court this Saturday where health workers will immediately force them to receive required shots. Parents who don't bring their children to court for the shots are to be jailed.

"We can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way, but it's going to have to get done." said State Attorney Glenn Ivey

This is nothing considering what's to come.
    It's mandatory because there's a hidden agenda.
It's also evidence of our freedoms being taken away without a fight. :fear:

EDIT:> Divide & Conquer... that's what's happening to us. :crying:

Only article I could find on this: http://www.wtopnews.com/index.php?nid=708&sid=1292010

Include it if you post a thread.

Throwing the parents in jail is wrong but if they want their kids to be in school then they have to ensure their children are immunized or are provided with some other educational setting. This isn't about getting the Flu shot, it's chicken pox and hepatitis B.

And they're mandatory because we have the ability to protect against viruses like this and because children are less likely to be able to fight off Hepatitis B and the Chicken Pox vaccine: "deaths and hospitalizations have substantially declined in the U.S. due to vaccination". Which means less adults dying, less kids having to suffer through it at a younger age and less money spent on treatment compared to prevention.

This has nothing to do with taking people's rights away, it has everything to do with keeping schools clean and keeping children healthy. I don't agree with jailing parents but maybe the child cannot attend school without the proper shots? I'm sure we had to have a check up before we went to high school Andrew, it was mandatory and was a way to help keep people healthy especially when high school has thousands of kids that pass germs from one person to another.
it makes me sick when i think of it, all my heroes could not live with it so i hope you rest in peace cause with us you never did

Yea, sending the parents to jail sounds a little extreme. At my school we had certain immunizations we had to get before 7th grade. If we didn't get them, we wouldn't get our schedule or pay our fees, so basically we couldn't come to school.

Not that I support parents being thrown into jail, but I don't support a parent that isn't going to protect their children and those around them from harmful viruses that pop up time to time in schools. Are parents this stubborn that it had to come to this? That's just god awful.

The shot is for that child's safety, not everyone elses. If they don't want the shot, just make them sign a waiver so they can't sue when their kid gets tetnus. No reason to threaten jailtime

Where does it say in the LAW that failure to comply with immunization shots is a crime worthy of Jail?
Why does it have to be at the circuit court?
Why can't they go to their family doctor?
Why is it so important that it's worth the tax payers dollars supporting jail?
What are the shots for? Is there an epidemic in that area only the officials know about?

Sounds very un-american to me , especially considering we are also talking about chickenpox, which might be on of the least deadly diseases we know in the first world, and influenza being not compulsory.

EDIT: Hep B is the blood-borne virus, why the fuck do you need a mass vaccination for something that is primarily a STD.

                      wtf?

A state prosecutor involved in bringing potential criminal charges against hundreds of parents in a county just outside Washington D.C. for failing to allow their children to be vaccinated admitted yesterday on a national radio show that there is no law that mandates any vaccine, despite a Fox News report falsely claiming otherwise.

                        Public Health is serious business.

But the choice is not only 'Get Shot or go to jail". People can home school, people can move to another place/country.

"manufactured crisis- human to human bird flu pandemic"? The last flu pandemic killed 50 million people and the next one will probably be worse. If the parents don't want their kids vaccinated and choose to neglect their health and their child's health then they can like Ephemeral said take them out of the public school system or move somewhere else.

yeah that's a lot more realistic and practical.
