From the looks of it the woman didn't have much money and it was the first of the month( That's when people who get goverment assistance get thier check) Last, but not least I wouldn't sue someone with 3 small kids on welfare. Well, in Gal's defense, it is sort of an American thing to sue somebody (or even give thought of it for that matter) for a punch.

Like it was stated above...She broke the glasses, she should pay for them. I think it pretty much ends there however.

Everyone knows the stories of the lawsuit over a hot cup of coffee. Falling on the doorstep of some store or hotel, etc. etc. etc. No other country has more ridiculous lawsuits than America.

And what else am I supposed to say: You Americans, while of course I obviously do not mean to generalise and include every single inhabitant in America, but merely the ones who would sue for the littlest of things, so do not take this as something addressed to every single person living in America, cause I do not mean it that way per se, like to sue for everything.

That doesn't necessarily mean he's going to sue her. Not all Americans are sue-happy. I'm sure there are people in the Netherlands that sue for dumb reasons too. And how many cases of stupid lawsuits have you heard? Maybe 10? How many Americans are there? Over 300 million? Doesn't sound to me like most Americans like to sue for dumb reasons. That's way less than 1%.

Yea, there are some things you should sue for. What if you get in a car wreck where you weren't at fault and ended up having to go to physical therapy for months? Should you be responsible for lost wages, medical bills, and all the pain when you did nothing at all?

That happened to me. Did I sue? No. Should I have? Probably.

As far as I know you cant sue someone in the Netherlands because your coffee was hot, or because you slipped on the sidewalk. As far as I know I have never heard of anyone suing for those kind of things over here.
