  • Black Friday 2007

    Alright so I'm going to need your help my fellow pilots of online spaceship battling. I have $800 of disposable dorrar bills to spend.
    I'm working Thursday night into Friday morning and will not be able to wait in line for any items. Therefore I've hired my cousin to go to one store and buy me 1 laptop and maybe a television. Now I've been sifting through all these sales, and indecisive as to what items to go with.

    Best Buy has a Toshiba Satellite A135-S7403 Laptop with Canon PIXMA 3-in-1 Printer listed for $229.00 and at this price I can't go wrong. I need a laptop for work when I'm on the road since I have wireless internet and gaming is not important.

    Then there is a Compaq Presario Notebook w/ Intel Dual-Core Processor at Staples for $349.98

    Not sure which one to go with.

    If you can find better deals than this on bfads.net for a laptop please enlighten me as I have not had time to anally rip the website apart yet.

    Also I'm looking for a TV to play my Xbox 360 on since its a real pain playing on my computer monitor all the time.

    Thanks guys and happy thanksgiving (-;

        Yeah, it's pretty nice size and price. Just when you goto see it, check the brand and other things, too.

          Actually I'm going to have to go with the toshiba laptop and tv from bestbuy due to the fact that my cousin is going to be there at 10pm waiting in line and best buy hands out tickets to buy the doorbreaker items. Staples on the other hand has no tickets and its everyone who gets whatever they want first gets it and I wouldn't want to put my cousin through the Iraq war concealed inside staples. Anyways I am letting him borrow my stungun :turned:

                I wouldn't go with that one. It's a Celeron Mobile processor. There really is no noticeable difference between 599-700$ laptops, most are dual cores with 1-2 gigs of ram and a fair size hard drive. If you want to get the best bang for your buck check the processor and video card line and rankings. But if it's for school/business those things shouldn't matter much.

                  The thought of buying Laptops at BestBuy or Circuit City makes me wince. Prepackaged software, few hardware choices, low performance. Ick ick ick

                    I was going to create a thread, but since there is one already, I'll reply to this.

                    On to my question, I'm going to buy a 24-27in. TV, LCD. Any suggestions on what TV I can get during Black Friday and where should I go? Also, will Ipods be cheaper? My old one broke like last year, and I guess I waited for awhile now and thinking about getting a new one, will the price drop on Black Friday?

                    Thank you,

                      For the iPods and stuff, I would suggest checking out what companies are around you and viewing the iPod section of their websites. I wouldn't put it past someone to drop the price of a pod a little.

                      Also, for TVs, whatever is cheaper, but just be wary of the "non name brand" stuff that people don't know. I recently got my grandmother a "Visio" TV that works out quite well.
