I think Rob and Beth's reaction after Hud died was very fitting. Rob already knew they were going to bomb ALL of Manhattan shortly after six. They weren't going to escape on foot, so Rob decided, just like he did earlier when they ducked into the subway, that getting underneath something is better than being out in the open when the big bombs come.

The monster and military were warring right outside and could be heard the whole time. Why would they run out into that frenzy? It would only further risk themselves. They would have to escape from a giant monster having bombs dropped on it in an open field, as well as, being nuked without cover. Instead, they do the logical thing by delivering their last testaments and hoping someone finds them. A little reminiscent of 9/11, no? :fear:

I didn't even get any idea or thought of 9/11 until after I saw the movie and came on the internet the next day. I saw people complaining how it has mad 9/11 references and allusions and how they used the footage and blah blah blah.

Fuck it was in New York City ok? The monster didn't tear down the two towers, it tore off the statue of liberty's head. Shit I hate that type of bs- how many action movies have used New York as a backdrop since 9/11? Not alot and no wonder, because people will jump to 9/11 conclusions 7 years after the incident happened.

What about the convenience store scene? Or the fact that people funneled onto the Brooklyn Birdge, on foot, to escape? At one point, I believe a woman even says, "it's not another attack is it?" There's imagery from that day strewn throughout the flick.

Just like Godzilla was Japan's reaction to the atom bombs, JJ and company definitely tried to do the same with this flick. I'm not offended, and I think it's fairly silly to feel insulted by this; the movie's a work of fiction. They captured the frantic nature perfectly. Receiving grim phone calls, calling out for people you know, desperately trying to escape the city...I felt they all hearkened in some way to 9/11.

I liked it. The movie just felt right, and honestly I can't see myself making any improvements, or shooting anything differently. They did a great job...Although I would rather have this be a standalone work.

I saw it 3 times, so yeah.

4. I don't do the saving God does. This is a supernatural act on God's side when He makes Himself known to individuals by putting a desire in their heart to understand Him... after recognizing they need Him. He's the One that draws people to Him. We don't choose Him, He chooses us.
5. That's a great movie. I loved it... It speaks of society on many levels.

....aside:... It's my opinion that religion is a sham used to manipulate the masses. I've come to believe that when Jesus says 'sin no more', the deeper meaning is don't get caught up in the idea of sin as a guilt-trip device that causes one to think that they're unworthy of a peaceful & glorious afterlife. Like animals smell fear, evil feeds on guilt. If a person dies full of guilt, feeling unworthy of heaven, evil entities will take advantage of that person, enslaving them and feeding off their emotional energy.
