LOL 2001 Space Odyssey... I must've seen (or tried to see) that movie a half dozen times. I still don't remember the whole movie. Most of the time it just put me to sleep. The first time i saw it was when it was released.. at a drive-in.

Reminds me of the Simpsons episode:
Treehouse of Horrors XII ''Hex and the City''
The second scary story pays homage to 2001 as Marge decides to purchase the Ultrahouse 3000, a futuristic house (Pierce Brosnan) with homicidal tendencies that controls every aspect of the family's lives. When the House falls in love with Marge, it attempts to kill Homer and take his place.

That wasn't the condition Spider created this thread on...

hope everyone that likes serenity has heard of firefly, the show it was based upon. fox pulled the plug on it, due to bad ratings they say, but i can;t see how a show that had such bad ratings had enough of a fan base to make a movie.

I haven't seen it just because 1. never heard of it.. 2. if i did hear of it, the title of it didn't motivate me to want to see it.

Maybe now that a few have brought it up, I'll keep it in mind next time I'm looking for a movie.

Hahaha Epinephrine that is one of the strangest top 5 scifi movie lists I've ever seen

Some of the stuff some people have mentioned totally isn't scifi but that's cool. Jurasic Park I don't think counts. Was a cool movie though, and I mean, technically, it has some scifi elements in it for sure.

I think it's really interesting how many people mentioned 5th Element. I've talked about this with some people in the real world and it's been mentioned a few times. I liked it too. Strange. Milla Jovovich would be thrilled, haha.

Dads: Of all those movies I think the only one I saw was Them (was it "Them!"?). Good movie, in a way, lol. I saw, shit, what was it... I was on an "old scifi" kick and I also saw that movie where everyone in a little town dies from some space virus and the science nerds try to cure it. Fuck! What was it called? When I remember I'll edit this post and put the name in.

I got myself confused but I think the movie I'm trying to remember was "the Alpha incident".

EDIT: No it wasn't! That was something else. The Andromeda Strain, duh! Now THATS a movie!

Also, I liked Aeon Flux, is that scifi? I think so.

                          Alien
                          Terminator 2
                          Serenity
                          The Matrix

Alien was an intense movie to watch, kept me squirming in the seat.

I love T2 more than the original. It was the first Terminator movie I saw so maybe that had an effect. I love the villain.

-The Island (not because I thought it was fantastic, but because I like scarlet johansson.)
