Better think twice

So the other day my land lord came around to talk to all the people in the building to make sure they didn't have a problem with a registered sex offender moving into the building.

When the guy was 18 he slepted with his 16 year old gf and her parents found out and reported him.

So now his guy is always going to be a registered sex offender, has to inform police of his where abouts, and has to go around and tell his neighbors he is a sex offender.

And on the day he was suppose to move in, the cops came by and beat on his door for about 30 mins to check up on him. He wasn't even there yet.

Never a good idea to engage in sexual activities with people underage. Even if they "consent" often their parents will not and report the offender.

I think it's kinda weird that there is a blanket age set for people to engage in sexual activities. Everyone matures at different rates, emotionally, spiritually and physically. There are many people 18 and over I'd say that are not ready to have sex, and some under who might be. But you do have to draw a line somewhere, so it's good there is a line.

What's also bizarre is that you can have two under age kids having sex with eachother and as long as they are consenting, there's no legal problem. What the hell is that about?

It's also weird that the legal age is different all over the world. I can understand there are different cultures so they have different beliefs and customs, but you'd think something like age of consent would be more universal. Don't you think? I'd like to see the different ideas, data, or studies that were conducted to establish the age of consent in the various countries. That would be interesting.
