How I would like to see it end, by: teh Skweeze

I love the idea of Desmond's flashes, and the fact that he had the opportunity to change fate, but failed to do so and thus was sent back to his present dimension. I don't know how, but I'd love to see Desmond have the choice of stopping Oceanic 815 from taking off (perhaps by making a scene in the airport?), or allowing the survivors to endure their individual fates. As Desmond continues to weigh the options in his mind, we see him come to a consensus in his eyes. Then, just as he's about to act, to walk either toward the Losties, or walk away, the screen goes black...LOST.

This way they could bring back all of the characters, and maybe have an alternate timeline airport episode.

edit: and if you care enough to know my opinion on how they answer things, go ahead and ask...But I'll save you all the time spent otherwise.

          I am asking squeezer!

But, from that idea, you can create a series out of Final Destination, cause as we saw with Charlie, he may stop it, but it keeps on coming back. So would he stop Oceanic Flight 815 they would all start dying in different ways..
Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.

I meant ask specific questions and I'll give you my theories accordingly.

True about the course correcting, but that would ultimately be Desmond's decision to make. Alter history, or let it unfold the way he's already seen before. That would be a cool way to end the show on a cliffhanger.

Told you the chopper would make it.

Ok, so time on the Island goes a lot faster than outside of it. Something to do with the magnetic field I presume.

Also, the dad of Penny bought a very, very important book in 1996.

Catherine / c.s. lewis, I think there creating parallels to the wardrobe in Narnia which transports you to another land, there's time differences of our reality and the time in the wardrobe. The whole idea of time and space is completly manipulated on the island. There's a barrier between the island and our reality, much like the wardrobe, it's an invisible barrier which some people have been able to manipulate. Desmond is able to become a vessel in which he can travel through time.

Ben has learned how to control this ability of transferring from one time to another to acquire money and people to live on the island.

For some people they can control this ability for others it's impossible and they end up killing themselves.

Interesting episode. I like how they worked the flashbacks and flash forwards so that you would think it was both flash forwards.

So now we have 6 survivors: Jack, Kate, Said, Hurley, Sun and Ben. Depending on whether Ben is one of the oceanic six (which I would guess he isnt) this would leave room for only 1 more survivor. Already know Jin is gonna die (unless these flash forwards turn out to not be true for some reason, like Desmond changes something). Desmond could very well survive too, cause he is not a part of the oceanic flight of course.

If you're keeping score, here's where we stand.

Official Survivors (The 6): Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Sun, #6 Unknown (Locke?)
                        Unofficial Survivors: Ben, Aaron
                        Assumed Dead: Claire
                        Confirmed Dead: Jin, Charlie
Currently on Boat: Michael, Sayid, Desmond

                        - I wouldn't count out any people so far, except Jin at this point. Next week, someone will die, apparently. I'm guessing it's another one of Whitmore's team, though. Or it will not be a too major of a player like that.

                        - Aaron is an Unofficial Survivor based on the episode with Kate's trial. You can assume Claire is dead from this for now. Aaron wouldn't be on the flight manifests or recorded at all, because he was born in the island. So he wouldn't be one of the "6".

                        - There can be more survivors who would be unofficial as well. Ben obviously survived, Juliet has a chance, along with Desmond and Rousseau.

                        - Charlie seems to claim he's alive in Hurley's mind. I dunno where we're going with that.

                        - I'm going to guess Juliet doesn't make it, because Jack seems to want to be with Kate.

                        - I'm going to say the man in the coffin, from the last episode of Season 3, will be the 6th survivor of the "Oceanic 6". I'm still guessing it's Locke (Neither Jack's Friend nor Family).

                        - I was 100% correct in guessing that Michael was Ben's man on the boat.

                        - Jack will bone Juliet by the time the season is over.

But would Micheal die again, cause officially he was on the plane, so he would be a survivor no? He obviously never got back to the real world cause they all think everyone in that plane is dead and on the bottom of the ocean, would he have showed up along with Walt (where is he?) the world would have known by now and started searching again?

Michael has never made it back to the real world, yet. Therefore, he is not rescued. He's "Kevin Johnson" on the boat, as a janitor, and Ben's eyes and ears. Who knows? Maybe he can die before the big ending, but I'll add a boat count.

                              But where is Walt..

And, who can be trusted? Boat people? Ben? Ben obviously knows they are after him, so he will manipulate what he can to save his life.

The boat people seem to have good intentions, but that Whitmore, dad of Penny guy, cant be trusted.

I'd follow Ben. I dunno where Walt could be, though.
