  • Rock Band destroys GH3

    ... told you, Dame.

Seriously, the DLC for this game is great. Sure, not all the songs are winners, but the pure volume at which they release them is fantastic. Log in once every couple of weeks and you have 3-6 new songs to peruse. As opposed to GH3, which has some DLC, but it's all bullshit like "hey guys! here's the Halo song! play along!" and assorted asshattery.

Yes, there are other songs I would like to see. In fact, fuck it, let's also use this thread as an informal list of songs you'd like to see as DLC for Rock Band. Without getting all hyper-indie on everyone (there's only room for one castromarx, after all), here's my list.

Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - "Wail"
Muse - "Bliss", "Hyper Music", "Plug In Baby"
My Morning Jacket - "Off the Record" or "Lay Low"
Radiohead - Pretty much all of OK Computer or The Bends
Soundgarden - "The Day I Tried to Live"
Spoon - "Don't Make Me a Target", "Don't Buy the Realistic"
Sunny Day Real Estate - "Seven"
Ted Leo & the Pharmacists - "Bomb Repeat Bomb"
The Libertines - "Death on the Stairs"
    The Mars Volta - "Goliath"
    Wilco - "Monday"

    ...and the guilty pleasure:

Guns N' Roses - "Mr. Brownstone"
Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

Steve Miller Band - Jungle Love
    Pretty much any Queen song
Journey - Any Way You Want It & Don't Stop Believing

While we're on the subject. What is your favorite song in Rock Band?

Say It Ain't So & Foreplay/Long Time are my favorites by far.

I'm glad I was wrong on this one. Game fucking rocks. Took you long enough to call me on it, though. :P

But, I thought the Halo Theme was awesome to play on GH3.

Don't stomp it like a retard and you'll be fine.

Anyway, I'd like to see some Rise Against and maybe a few of the older Beatles songs.

I'm psyched to download "March of the Pigs" and "the Perfect Drug" by Nine Inch Nails.

Apparently some hacker found this complete songlist for Rock Band that has a lot of songs they're prepping to put out as DLC. The txt file he found didn't have any artists with it, unfortunately, but it shouldn't be a problem with finding your favorite tracks.

Also, there are songs on this list that are already out or came with the game. This is just the list of all the songs they have, so that's why. You'll be able to tell what's not there, though.

The songs in bold are ones I'd be excited to play, especally with my friends. And yes, I know some in bold are out already to download, but I haven't got a chance to explore the DLC as much yet.

The thing I really like about Audiosurf is that you can do any song on it. I would be interested in seeing a sequel or expansion to Guitar Hero or Rock Band that either let you plug in any song or even just an editor that let you hack together your own levels based on songs of your choice.. I guess downloadable songs are a money fountain though so they would never do this.

It would be cool, and Harmonix did mention something about using your own music for it. But, like you said. It's a 99.9% chance that wouldn't happen.

                  1. Loss of money
                  2. Lawsuits

Bands will get pissed over this, most likely. That's just my baseless guess, though.

I do know Rock Band is trying to make some "expansion" games, though. A disc of just tracks to add into your Rock Band. Probably with a certain theme, or of a collection of artists, or maybe just one artist

They need a metal expansion disc, specifically Strapping Young Lad.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

Roomate bought Rockband (all the instruments) on sale for $150 (ps3 version).

I'll be playing Rockband on his ps3, which I've already used to play his copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Call of Duty 4, and Assassin's creed.

                          I love free shit.
