    No country for old men.

It was a very good movie and I absolutely loved it ... even though the ending was depressing and I hated the fact that the evil guy won at the end.

LOL, that evil guy looked like a psycho, acted like a psycho and IS a damn psycho.

I don't understand the title for this movie though, what does it refer to? Did the movie try to tell us that the good does not always win at the end, but the survival are likely to belong to the stonger, younger, more adaptive albeit evil ones?

Throughout the movie Tommy Lee Jones talks about how he looked up to his father and how he wanted to be as good as he was. Then near the end he talks about how he cant keep up with the younger crowd anymore and it's his time to stop trying to fight crime and let another generation take over.

At least that's what I got out of it.

I'm happy I read telcat's post, as I have not seen the movie yet and was very interesting in how the plot progressed. Good thing she is very smart (with a total hot, but not slim body), otherwise she might've phrased it in a non-spoiler way!

Luckily I had already seen the movie. MirroriM didn't really help either.

                  Lately I've seen:

No country for old men - Liked it, Bardem was really great, but I think Finnish critics overhyped him a bit too much, saying he was the next Hannibal Lecter. Very creepy, but not that creepy. :P Found it really nice how they managed to set such an excited mood without any music.

There will be blood - At times it was really long-winded but on the other hand some parts of it were totally awesome. Would have to see it again to really get the story, but to be honest I don't want to see it again in a while. Quite heavy.

Rambo - Pretty bloody, as you might guess. Found it quite difficult to really get the point of the movie, since some parts of it were really gruesome while some parts were funny "oh god Rambo is such a badass " stuff. Didn't really know what to think of it. Felt a bit short, but that might be because Stallone didn't drag it out unnecessarily, which is of course always cool.

Sweeney Todd - Definitely the one I liked most in the bunch. Really nice tunes and awesome black humour. I went to watch it not knowing it was a musical and afterwards I was overjoyed it was. Sometimes it seemed like Helena Bonham-Carter didn't really sing her own lines, but dunno.

Just saw some film "Gabriel" that was good. Its set in the place called purgatory some holding area for souls that have sinned and the angels and demons go there and fight to claim the souls. I wont give it away but the angels are losing then Gabriel gets sent there to "return the light".

                      into the wild

a very powerful movie. the "ron" character steals the last part of the movie. my only complaint is that its about 15-20 minutes too long. other than that, great.

Gone Baby Gone - Just saw it the other night, i got to say it was pretty good for being directed by Ben Afflec.

Darjeeling Unlimited - not nearly as good as the life aquatic or the royal tennebaums, but still watchable

We Own the Night - I liked Phoenix's role and was glad to see the marky mark didn't play as big of a role as i orignally thought with his annoying ass accent

No Country for Old Men - great movie but DONT FUCKING CLOSE UR EYES, OR LOOK AWAY for teh last 30 mins or you'll be as SERIOUSLY PISSED LIKE I WAS because you missed a scene that the whole movies leads up to and it only kinda shows it for 5-10 seconds...

10,000 BC -- I shoulda know better, it basically rips off Apocolypto (which is a really good movie too) except 10000 is cheesy, they speak english half the time, foreign languages the other, and that somehow there's white ppl living with mammoths on a mountain in africa? Riiiight

Watched "The Faculty", a Robert Rodriguez flick/adaptation of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but I watched it on cable and on acid, so it seemed alot funnier when a 16 year old Josh Harnett screamed "PHOOEY!" instead of "FUCK!".

There Will Be Blood was $

                          Downloading Kite Runner right now.
                          After that, watching Rambo4.

Then maybe some Atonement with the lady.

I don't understand why anyone would close their eyes or look away for 30 minutes of the movie.

Maybe for someone who wants to know nothing about the movie. It's not like I gave away the ending -_-

i only looked away for like 10s when i spilled my drink, and didn't realized what i missed. Not trying to spoil it for anyone who didn't see it, but when it ended 10-20 mins later, i was like wtf happened to (let's call him bob)? i saw the antagonist fulfill his promise, walk off, and i was all like what about bob? my friends said "didn't you see him?" i said "no" they said "he was in the background in the @!#$@$" i said "damn i just wasted 2 1/2 hours and ruined a good movie" they said "don't buy shit at the theater..."
