Crv, first of all, why the fuck u never online anymore.. have u even seen our current roster? just a bunch of extreme pussies on there, whose whining i really dont wanna listen to, let alone talk to these guys! where u at man?!

secondly.. for some reason in my local cinema (we got like 4, but only one is good, like REALLY good, just 'cult' movies!), was showing 'Professione: Reporter' from 1975. went to it with my sis (for some reason she fucking had seen all other movies there already, kinda jealous at how much money shes makin alrdy, she can go to movies every night. bah. well i could too maybe, but then i have zero money left for beer, beer > movies still.)
anyway i thought it was a pretty damn cool movie, real unique feeling to it, which was quite pleasant. I found it even funny at times. Don't think it was even meant to be 'dry funny' though, but to me it often was, then again it's really one of those movies with not much dialogue and long shots of not much happening, it really leaves a lot to the spectator to judge what kinda movie he's seeing.. like on imdb theres some nuts out there who saw it as some extremely complicated spy-movie.. haha..
but anyway one of THE if not THE best performance i've ever seen from Nicholson though, imo better than in one flew over the cuckoo's nest (also from 75)..
definately gonna check out more movies from Michelangelo Antonioni!

Semi Pro: wasnt that good loads of little details that made me laugh and not many big funny scenes.

Blowupp (1966) by Antonioni is pretty good, and it's english-speaking. Some ppl say it's better to start with his older ones, but I personally liked this one.


I finally saw Black snake moan few days ago, and it's quite a good movie. Ol' dirty delta blues, both Sam Jackson and Ricci are excellent, and there is ton of kickass music in the soundtrack. Minus points for J Timberlake, but his role is small so that's good. Plus points for him being a part of one of most awesome lines said in a movie:
RONNIE (Timb): You heard me, mother-fucker. I'll fuckin' kill..
LAZARUS (Sam): (cutting him off) BOY! You so green you couldn't stomp a baby duck. :grin: :wub:


Bubba Ho Tep - all hail Bruce!! Mwahahah cult classic! Saw this one again, due to the fact that My Name Is Bruce (2007) is out/should be out/may never come out: B Movie Legend Bruce Campbell is mistaken for his character Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy and forced to fight a real monster in a small town in Oregon.
Cant wait to see this one :grin:

good/worth watching despite the generic premise, but why does michelle monaghan look like she is getting over a 3-day bender in every single scene

Heh, very sucky movie. every character is a lowlife, weak dialogue, forced twists and turns in the storyline.. nothing really comes of as realistic, which kinda matters in a 'serious' movie. i guess i had this one coming though, the signs not to watch this were quite clear: directed by ben affleck, and the star of the movie is his kid-brother (who acts/talks just the same as Ben.) didn't do it for me.


Not as horrible as another movie I've recently seen though; Idiocracy. I thought Office Space (also by Mike Judge) was great fun.. But then again I don't like Beavis and Butthead (also by Mike Judge).. and unfortunately (I guess I could've expected this as well from the title) in Idiocracy every character is like Beavis and Butthead.. Really retarded comedy, jokes on the level of Wayne's World, Bio-dome and crap comedies like that.. Bah.


on a good note. I watched Stranger Than Fiction again 2 days ago.. I'm NOT a fan of the characters Will Ferrell normally plays (Taladega Nights and shit like that), but this movie was a real pleasant watch! Very absurd story, but it comes with really nice dry humour, which works really well. And I could just tolerate Emma Thompson who's also in the movie, she's quite an annoying actress (not on the Whoopie Goldberg, Goldie Hawn or Meryl Streep level of irritating)

Also I liked Eastern Promises.

Live Free Or Die Hard is a good action movie. That fighter jet thing was pretty cool.

Be Kind Rewind

If you like Michael Gondry's simple, yet wacky surrealism (see: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, or the Science of Sleep) and are capable of standing Jack Black hamming it up, then this is the movie for you. Jack (who's more in School of Rock/ High Fidelity form than King Kong/Nacho Libre) and Mos Def, who plays his part fantastically, accidentally delete all of the VHS tapes in Danny Glover's video store while he's away. In order to fix this problem, they set to remaking movies starring themselves and very low budget production values. At first they do it to trick people, but once they figure it their customers start making requests and they eventually become local celebrities. The whole thing turns out to be hilarious and has a comfortable message that everyone can go along with. It's a happy movie. There's really no better way to put it. It's happy.

Saw it with my mom and brother on easter, so it's definitely one you can take the wimmins to.

first of all bram, i skimmed your post and read that you think wayne's world is on the same level as biodome i think it's safe to say that i will never again be able to trust your opinion when it comes to film.

i enjoyed be kind, rewind a fair bit. however, i didn't think it was anything spectacular. i liked the premise, i thought most of the performances were pretty decent, but there was something holding it back. science of sleep is the shit, though.

Never heard about it before I grabbed it on the internet. Was pleasently suprised. Got some funny moments in it but that might have been because weed makes alot of unpleasantness pleasant.
