Take advantage of the scam! Agree to it and let him pay you. Then wait a few weeks before doing anything to make sure the money isn't redrawn by Paypal
They probably won't ever pay you, only a scammer would say he's paying you more then the price.

(btw, try googling the e-mail addresses of the scammers, someone might have posted in a different forum about the same guy.)

Every time i try to post on CL something fucks up and my ad doesnt get posted.
So for now it's just on Facebook's marketplace and I've gotten about 5 spam/scam messages for it.

I'm also waiting on my brother to see if he wants it. (He'd give me cash + his ipod and lots of accessories)

But right now it needs a new power supply, which im going to put in.(instead of dealing with HP help support) It would get pretty warm when the computer was under a load. It didnt mind running ss but if i played a little counter-strike it got kinda hot. So I'm going to make sure the problem is resolved before giving it to somebody.

ok, so this laptop is a gaming machine. 1500$, well ya, i guess i cant expect it to run crysis and sins of the solar empire looking at your specs.

This is by Gateway and it was released about 2 months ago in USA and last month in Canada. It's a 17" laptop with a GeForce 8800 GTS priced at $1349. (and btw, this isnt even an on sale price, it's an release price on a gaming laptop)

so this is actually 250$ cheaper. Fine, add tax and even watever fuken cost it might be, lets say it's 1500$ as well, but i get a BRAND NEW laptop.I also get a 8800GTS on it. granted the fact that it not only has 8800gts which can run EVERYGAME including crysis, it also has 3 gig of ram + core 2 duo

after looking at the specs, you might say the CPU at 1.67ghz might be a concern on this notebook which is designed for gaming, but it is generally easier to upgrade a CPU than a GPU in majority of today's notebooks. taken in the fact that you (XOG) sells your notebook at 1500, i can buy this notebook for 1350 and spent the extra money on upgrading a better cpu, i will get a monster machine out of this.

even without a upgrade, look at what this comp scores as on the Windows Experience Index Score

btw, my friend actully have this laptop and it runs Bioshock and COD4 and they both ran on HIGH for 6 hours straight and the CPU temp was 41 and GPU temp was 44

now xog, why dont you give me a reason of how i would pick your laptop over this one?

You strike a hard bargain.

Xog - I realize you're trying to get something back on your investment, and I've been there. The 3 grand I spent a couple years ago building my fx-55 sli desktop probably dwindled away to few hundred dollars by now. Now, I've put a lot of work and love into this machine, upgraded it until it couldn't be upgraded anymore, and tweaked every last bit of performance out of it. I understand your sentimentality towards what you have - but that doesn't make it worth what you THINK it's worth. If you're insulted or feel "ridiculed" when people truthfully tell you that they wouldn't buy it for $1000, maybe you should keep your investment and enjoy it until you HAVE to upgrade. That'll get the most out of your investment at this point, a lot more than having to sell something after a couple of years for a fraction of the price you've bought it at. Let's assume you've bought the most high-tech shit and the best quality laptop out there. This doesn't mean it isn't outdated, or that it's used, or that I can't buy a better, up-to-date laptop for less money.

I actually toyed with the idea of bidding on the item and then canceling my bid. But then I thought that would be mean.

NOTE: I built this laptop specifically for gaming, and runs beautifully, doesn't overheat, and can play just about any game out there on full settings. The only game I've tried to run on full settings and didn't work out so well, is Unreal Tournament 3, and that's competing with XBOX360 graphics. Even with that game, it still runs on full graphics, but the framerate is a little low. Everything is is so superb and incredible in games. This laptop is very fast, loading times on everything is extraordinary, and the graphics are beautiful.

THERE ARE NO VIRUSES AND NO SPYWARE/ADWARE
I scan my computer once a week for spyware and viruses. I scan for viruses with AVG once, then do a scan for spyware/adware with Ad-aware. After that's completed, I do a second scan, both norton. This computer has never gotten a virus.

The laptop looks brand-new. I just took it into work today and a co-worker thought I had just took it out of the package.

You might get $300-400 for it, depending on how stupid the person is.

New Laptops - You can get a new cheap laptop that's equivalent or better to that for less than your selling it for. Why buy something old when you can get something cheaper and new.

Laptops depreciate in value. I paid $2000 for my macbook, it's probably worth $900-$1000. It's not a pro but it's a dual core, it's a decent rig. It lost a lot of its worth when they came out with the new macbook airs which are the same or less price as this was.
