well for one, what a way for people to get into the usa. Lets teach them to make passports so if they ever want to enter themselves, they can feel free to make themselves one.

It all boils down to money and profits. Toss the theory of national security out the window on this.
The government compromises the crown jewel of American border security...state of the art passports to, not only save money, but also make a profit.
By manufacturing the passports in places like Thailand, recently victimized by communist Chinese spies, the government agency responsible for providing the State Department with the blank booklets makes tens of millions of dollars in profits even though it’s only supposed to break even.
Odd that the contractors sent in to Iraq from the U.S. originally made note that these contracts had been specific so that profit could not be the main issue or focus. We know that was a crock of shit today...oh to be a Haliburton, Parsons, Bechtel or any of the awarded contractors to Iraq stockholder.
Our government wastes your tax dollars every day on useless contracts for someone elses profiteering. Just look at the recent, of these past two days, a Miami Beach company owned by a 22 year old guy that had a contract with the U.S. military to procure ammunition for use by the Afghan army and police.
Times story reveals that the Pentagon gave an inexperienced 22-year-old a $300 million contract to provide ammo to Afghanistan. The shady deal resulted in decades old, substandard munitions being delivered to US and Afghan troops.
Amazing and yet nobody will do jail time or lose a pension on this. Why couldn't the U.S. have set up the ammunitions factory here in the States? That would make sense...but our pentagon would rather give a $300 million dollar contract to a 22 year old. LOL
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.
NLS, contrary to what you may believe, the majority of us are perfectly capable of surfing Fox news on our own, where we can not only read top headlines, but their accompanying stories. Most of the TW community does not frequent the forums in order to keep up to date on current events via your selected 'news stories' and completely inane commentary that you pull out of your ass.
you'd do better off posting silly pictures, or making fun of telcat

Why is it dumb? It's cheaper. Why don't you make passports for $0.20/hour if you care so much about it being outsourced?
Well, they "outsource" the passports, it's actually just the physical passports. All stamps, verifications, and final touch-ups and the "Seal of Approval" are done in the U.S.A.
I currently have USCIS as a client and there are MAJOR organizational issues. Apparently every department has become in itself little fiefdoms with little/no regard to any centralized authority above it. I'm currently setting up PMO offices and managing project plans to hold these departments accountable... and it's been one big bowl of crap.
