I love when that happens, when you feel pretty good to drive home even though you drank a lot, then once you get out the car and hit the first step of the stairs to your room, you realize how drunk you actually are.

anyways, i like beer. pretty much all kinds. usually, you can pick the type of beer that you should drink by the application.
if youre wanting to just get loaded, go with the cheap malts or ice's or something like that... not the best tasting, but will definately get the job done for less.
then youve got the drinking game nights. the best for that are the busch keystone and natural lights as well as coors bud or miller light if youre a slightly higher roller.
then theres your pseudo-nice beers. this is where you put the sam adams type stuff. these you normally find as the 'top shelf' beers in "joe-bob's all night liquer shack".
then there's the nice shit. im talking about the allagash and trappist stuff. not long ago i had a nice bottle that was an allagash aged in a bourbon barrel.

there is a nice wine store in town that also carries several nice bottles of beers. in fact, im due back there soon.

by the way, anyone here a wine drinker?

I drink white wine on occasion...I don't really like the red,red wine...

by no means am I though an expert on wines, I'm more like one of those "oh wine! yum!"-people.

I like wine, but the only reason I don't drink it often is that I don't know how to pick good ones from bad ones. I tend to go with, the expensiver the better, but I know that always doesn't work. The good thing about sampling different beers is that you can buy a small portion to drink (a bottle or a tallboy). But for wine, you've got an entire bottle to finish, whether you like it or not.

i love a nice come of red wine. we actually have a batch do in a couple of weeks. bought a wine making kit that makes 30 bottles...usually keep 10 or so and sell the rest to cover the cost of the ingredients. it turns out quite delicious

Tried out Magic Hat #9 tonight, wasn't too bad, but it did have a fruity taste to it. I got the Pandora's Box spring variety selection of Magic Hat- I still have to try out Circus Boy, HIPA, and Odd Notion, which also came in the box.

HIPA is pretty solid but if youre uninitiated to drinking ipas i could definitely see not appreciating it. never had circus boy because im not a big hefeweizen fan and ive never had odd notion either

my roommate cracked open a '95 sierra nevada bigfoot. it was fucking delicious but apparently cellared beers like that sell for like 20-30 bucks a bottle. dont quite see the value there at all but he got it from a friend for free so i was glad to have a couple swigs.
