Does anyone roll cigarettes in the states? I visited there and went to a party, and while I was rolling a normal cigarette everyone thought I was rolling a joint, I don't know if that would be a national reaction or just a local one (Portland, Oregon)

I currently live in a moderate sized city in between Seattle and Vancouver called Bellingham. The population is about 100,000 people. Just over 17,000 of these residents are full time students. Hooray college!

A gallon of gasoline : $3.65/gal

A 6-pack of say Newcastle/other imports : $8.99
A 6-pack of say Budweiser/other domestics : $5.49
A Swisher cigar (for blunts)/ Black and Mild : $1.07

An 1/8th of decently good weed : $40.00
An oz of crap weed : $180.00

Going to see a movie : $6.50 for students, $7.50 otherwise.
College Tuition: $5300 a quarter.

Hand Blown Bong: Anywhere from $150-over a grand.
Newspaper: 50 cents

My roommate and I buy and roll our own cigarettes. Well, we used to until we got a rolling machine and are able to roll ten in a minute. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than camels and tastes better because there aren't any carcinogens.

Maybe it's a Northwest thing to assume someone's smoking pot though, because I know a lot of people that roll their own rather than paying for Marlboro or Camels.

4.55 x 2.37 = 10.78

That is right, when I go get gasoline for my car, I pay 10.78 dollars PER gallon.

When they're $10 a pack we roll them, in America they're $4-5 a pack so there's no real point to save money and roll your own cigarettes.
