I went white water rafting today for the first time, that shit was pretty fun

we mostly went over class 1-3 rapids, but my friends have already said they want to go again and we decided to go on this route that is all class 3 rapids, shit will be tight

it was at harper's ferry maryland, we couldn't take digital cameras (had to use disposable waterproof ones), so no pics sadly

but if you can do it, definitely check it out. well worth the money

we went in the smokies in north carolina right after a huge rainstorm. The river was flooded and raised the level by at least one. While we went it was still too foggy to see much ahead of us, but we could always hear when we had something big coming up....

going down the river with a layer of fog covering everything with the smoky mountains rising in the background was gorgeous...couldnt get any pics for the exact same reason

I enjoy this activity, but Florida does not have any good rapids. =(

I work at a whitewater rafting place in Pennsylvania. It's been my summer job since I was 14 and this will be my 5th year straight. All I do is carry the rafts down off the trucks after the girls we hire to inflate them get done, and sit around all day and work on the tan. Sometimes I work 10 hour days but actually work maybe 4 hours out of those 10, that's why I've been there for so long. I get to do it for free whenever the hell I want and bring 3 people for free too. The rapids up here aren't too strong unless we have a release planned, that is when the dam gets drained and then the water is fucking fast and fun to go down. Yeah it's a fun thing to do though and if you never tried it I would.

yea one of my friends who couldn't go asked why we didn't get any pics of the huge rapids and the white water swirling around, and I told him it's because we were too busy paddling and having the raft fly up in the air to bother taking pictures

I'm actually going in a couple weeks. I go every year in Idaho near Coeur d' Alene. We get class 3-5 rapids, mostly 4s. We've had this trip going with my friends from all over the U.S. and Canada for about 6 years now. It's always a blast. If you get good enough and aren't afraid of getting a bit banged up I suggest upping the anty Gotta make sure you have a good group, though.

Going for the first time in June to the Ottawa River, it's a 3 day trip with wilderness tours. It's going to cost me $150 for 3 days, 3 meals a day on Saturday and Sunday as well as a lot of other amenities the place has to offer. My friends went last year, two of them went bungee jumping but I'm too much of a puss to do that. Should be awesome, it's a University/College weekend with a fully loaded bar, drink at night raft during the day.

quite frankly i would love to bungee jump but according to Hollywood, approximately 235% of all bungee ropes fail.

yeah, it's not a bad deal. I'm pretty psyched. It includes all the gear + helmet + wet suit, the breakfasts are buffets but the dinners might not be. Who cares, I'll get enough bacon to fill me up for the rest of the day.

That's what I'm afraid of, I'd do it if I believed it was extremely safe. It's something like $68 extra to go bungee jumping, but I'm budgeting it and plus I've never been white water rafting, don't want to overload myself.
