I really need to take some tips on how to deal with trolls and complete idiots, trying to argue on a level with a person whose best come back is to threaten to beat you up or call you a nerd is a complete waste of time.

Note to self: stick to one liners instead of engaging in a full out fight, I've had the exact same fight with kid kaos as well as Ward at least three to four times and I might get the better of them but it's just so much fucking bullshit. It's not like Aorta knows what we're talking about nor will he post again.

good timing i guess, but i was watching the Discovery channel sat. and they had a preview of the "green channel." This kinda disappointed me b/c it was about the enviroment and not weed, but that aside, they had some cool looking shows.

One of the shows was on solar powered cars!

They had two schools from Toronto competing to show off their designs. Beyond the cars costing +100,000 dollars and being as flimsy as aluminum foil, they were pretty slick. Capable of 80 mph on battery power and ~30 mph on straight sunlight. Downsides would be lack of saftey and price, but it's damn impressive to watch a car go 30mph uphill with no stored power at all.

and from what i can remember about oil wells, they're not as uncommon as one would think, but finding one that's easy to tap is the problem. The reason middle east oil is so great (aside from it's purity) is that it's easy to get to in all that sand. There aren't "oil lakes" underground it's all mixed in sediment. I guess the same problem goes for alaska and siberia - tons of oil but no economic way to extract, transport, and refine it all. I think it's a small % (maybe like 1 in 5) of oil wells that actually work + turn a profit, it's that those that do make up for any loss searching for more oil.

ill answer this by saying hes not really a bad guy, just gives a different theory on things

however true free-market economy aka laissez-faire (which really only could be found in places like hong kong in todays society) is the best way to go

if you really look at it, the most thriving economies use true free market concepts, allowing the market to govern supply and demand on its own... without government restrictions aka teriffs and things

however the bad parts of this is there is no real labor laws as far as that goes, so the lower class individuals work in very bad atmospheres... but unemployment is very very low

Edit: i will add a socialist point of view to this though... many government programs are in theory good ideas, but usually don't work because of unforseeable problems... lets look at social security for example... in essence it was a great idea and it works, the real problem with it is that when it was made (circa 1920s i think???) that the life expectancy of the elderly was around the age of 60-70s. The problem occurs is that old people just don't die anymore, they live too long, so they suck up too much money. It is what it is though

Bush also didn't deal with the social security too gracefully. You can't even really bank on the money being there when you die but the problem at some level has been political. I know I'm wondering if there will be money there once the baby boomers all clean us out.

Keynes pretty much defined modern economics. By "different" theory you mean the very economics courses you supposedly have taken. His views on fiscal policy are pretty much the justification for the Federal Reserve. He supposedly refuted Say's law, which gave him the leverage to assert the need for "fiscal policy" (control of interest rates, expanding/contracting currency, etc).

I fucking hate the guy. Say's Law holds.

You started off your post wrong and somehow got wronger and wronger, and then you concluded with the statement about "unforeseeable" things that lead to problems within centrally-planned economies. That fact is one of the most crucial and damning arguments of any sort of planned economy. It's the reason every thing the U.S. tries to regulate or intervene on, fails. It's the reason all socialism fails. So... good job on that one, I guess.

Come to think of it: as to your original question in this thread, yes, I would like you to explain what I said in terms of economics. You might even learn something from it.

yeah but you'd force us to make recessions on trade deals, you don't need to full out attack someone to force your will on them. The idea that I was getting at is what happens when we say no to these bullshit deals?

How does all socialism fail? Netherlands is doing just fine, thriving economic, strong currency, etc.
Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.

Democracy is a farce and an idealogical based form of government. There is no true form of Democracy. Socialism works in the same manner. Your form of socialist government may differ from others.

Capitalism is the better word to describe the U.S. Republic of which some call a Democracy.

I personally no longer care about NAFTA, in fact I am looking to move & retire to the Vancouver area one day.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.
