I use some private trackers for anime, asian movies/music and the porn ofcourse, but for the rest there is always the google of the torrent sites, torrentz.com
Pretty much searches most of the biggest public sites with appropriate links and tracker list you can add to the torrent. Ow and the site is simple and clean, I like it.

i usually use torrentz.com and then go to mininova.org for movies.. usually get it from that axxo guy, good quality and i don't need 4gig+ versions of movies.. and what.cd for music..

yeah i'm serious (well not totally see below). I don't download music, movies or tv shows. I have a radio, decent cd/mp3 collection, a television, and access to any fucking movie i want to watch. I don't like 90% of today's new music so i don't need to keep downloading on top of what i already have. I don't even have limewire installed on my computer anymore, that was in fact a joke. I hardly have enough space on my hard drive to defrag the damn thing anyway.

ISOHunt is good. Their comment and voting system is widely used so you can tell fakes/malware from real stuff easily.

They can charge up to 25$, no more for now.

Bell just removed their cap so they can charge whatever amount they want per Gigabyte used. Rogers will goes the same way unless the CRTC steps in, which they won't. The throttling alone is enough bullshit to drive people away but even wholesaler ISPs are screwed too with Bell throttling their entire network. Everyone is up in arms about Bell right now but what's even more of a security risk and invasion of privacy is that to inform people of approaching their cap on Rogers network they inject Java-script code right into web pages you're viewing.

This above everything else violates network neutrality at its core, the idea that regardless of content data should be treated neutrally, and never intercepted, changed and retransmitted. I wouldn't be surprised to see them eventually using it to advertise. If it were possible, and it will happen.. think about all those people who would want to do this at the Network level. Meaning simply passing over a router from any given network provider could inject their own advertisements or remove unwanted ones from a competitor. DPI technology is very advanced.

About the time Rogers announced this new pricing plan I was considering switching to TekSavvy (Residental DSL) but then the whole Bell thing happened. It can't be coincidence. Bell and Rogers have in the past worked together on price fixing so my guess is they're both working together to protect their content distribution businesses (Bell Express Vu and Rogers Digital Cable).

They were particularly not happy to hear that as of May we would be cutting our extended TV package (roughly 25$ a month, basic cable is included in Condo fee) which hopefully covers this 'fee' for now. I still get the feeling all of this has to do with lobby groups failing to effect legislative change not unlike the DMCA in The United States, so this is just another way to stop otherwise legal and legitimate communication from happening.

Edit: Still ranting: And the Conservatives will force through DCMA changes. And the Liberals can't force an election and fight it based on this. Most people don't understand the concept and most people freak, drop their coffee and find their bluest fucking shirt (and lawn sign) at the word regulation. So the consumer loses out in this one, it's funny that we've left something as vital as communication in the hands of such fucking retarded people. If the Liberals abstain on the issue for much longer or go to the other side I'm voting NDP.

Rogers is throttling our bandwidth and blaming downloaders for slow network times, fucking bullshit. Bell is just as bad, me and Kolar were talking about alternatives but the real problem is that Bell and Rogers are a monopoly and they pretty much set prices and services in Canada. Tech Savy an independent ISP is taking huge hits from Bell, it's absolutely bullshit all across the board. The problem is our population size, there's a lot less options compared to America.
