Just got back from watching it and I'm sorry to say I was more than a little disappointed. I'm a huge fan of the first 3 Indiana Jones movies and the latest chapter is definitely a step down. I won't give any details, but the plot is more than a bit contrived even for a movie about mythological civilizations and supernatural treasure. The action sequences are decent, but much of it feels like a cheap rehash from Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
The biggest problem with the movie was unavoidable; Harrison Ford acts like he has done this all before... because he has. Dr Jones is pushing 60 in the movie and has had so many adventures that nothing surprises him, hence nothing surprises the audience. Hmm, wasn't George Lucas involved in another beloved movie trilogy that was extended >20 years after the originals at greatly diminished quality?
I'm probably complaining too much because I loved the Indiana Jones movies as a kid so I'm holding this movie to a higher standard.
7/10 Decent action, acting, a few chuckles but ridiculous plot that falls apart at the end.
