All I've seen so far was bunch of dumpsters

Ward, I would imagine your living situation is one of the following:

1. Living with parents in very nice house which you do not pay rent for.
2. Going to school living on or off campus in a crapy, cramped space with shared bathrooms.
3. Going to school living in a nice apartment paid for by your parents.
4. Just entered the workforce living in crappy apartment you pay for.
5. Just entered the workforce living in a nice apartment your parents pay for.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's any one of those situations why would you be knocking the living conditions of others? I like my aparment and something similar would cost at least $1,600 a month in Toronto. As for everyone else, some people don't need/want big apartments with 5 appliances and other ammenities. Maybe they are living cheap so they can save for more important things.
