and i would drink you and your family under the table, with or without spacers.

1- water, water, water. Drink in between drinks if you can, especially if you're drinking liquor, even if it's a mixed drink. Generally mixed drinks still don't have that much liquid in them compared to beer, and they're usually more alcoholic. In hs, we used to bong a lot of beer. in between bongs or at the end of the night, we'd bong water. Drink it before, during, or after: water absorbs quickly and throughout your system i believe.
2- Food. Eating beforehand fills you up and leaves less room for drinks. Also, it keeps you from having just liquid in your stomach, which could make you sick if you get really full. DO NOT EAT A LOT OF FOOD BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP. DO NOT EAT A LOT OF FOOD BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP. Wheter you think it's a myth or not, you don't digest as well when you're sleeping. If you go to be full of alcohol and food, you'll wake up full too. This generally is worse than just drinking water before bed IMO.
3- Sleep. You're gonna need it, and probably at least 6 hrs or you'll have a headache from not sleeping anyway.
THE NEXT DAY
1- Water, drink it as soon as you wake up. If you really like oj or milk, fine, but they're not as easy on your digestive tract to begin with.
2- Food. If you're hungry, go for it. If not, I'd wait until you are hungry. Eating toast or something light in the morning can help, but don't over do it.
3- Caffine. Drinking something with caffiene won't help your dehydration any, but it will dilate the blood vessels in your brain slightly, which can help with headaches. It won't sober you up, but it should make the pounding not as bad.
4-Green. I find that a bowl of nuggets is awesome for a hangover, but this is strictly my humble opinion, the others have more scientific merit.
****NOTE****
Hang overs are not caused by dehyrdation alone. You cited that for ethanol, but you're not drinking pure ethanol. As you already know, alcohol is a poison, and it will have its effect on you. Also, the quality of the alcohol matters a lot more than you might think. Shitty vodka gives you a hang over because it isn't filtered as much and the chemicals* that are present in higher concentrations in shitty alcohol are much higher than in your "triple filtered premium" liquors. I'm not sure but this probably applies to malt liquor or even some darker beers too (i think they give me worse hangovers).
*I can't remember the name of the chemicals, but you can check out Erowid to figure out the actual names. I strongly suggest anyone who does anything to spend some time on this site. A lot of information.

-Like everyone else says, drink alot of water before going to bed.
-And sleep in.
-myth or not (someone wrote that), mixing drinks fucks me up the next morning. such as wine + beer. or shots.
-Best remidy is to drink water during your drinking night. A coke can give a boost too... the sugar + non alcohol gives me a real boost, and i can continue again.
-exercising (such as going for a run) the next day helps alot, eventhough you wouldn't want to.
