people play this competitively? i know i've seen it in the olympics, but honestly i've NEVER seen anyone playing this sport outside of a friendly back yard game. the people who always want to be a pro confuse me. Unless it really is your favorite thing to do (side note soccer was my favorite thing to do for a while) then there's virtually no way to keep up with the training needed to be a professional. The sooner this kids learns that being a professional athelete isn't really a good goal to have, the better. I've seen so many people waste time and effort instead of learning and having fun, it's not even funny. I voluntarily gave up soccer because i wanted more time to do other things, not because i wasn't good enough to continue to compete. Typical 15 yr old.
