Casino Stories... Did you win/lose? etc

ok so in light of the movie 21, and all the various spinoff tv shows from that on history channel and things, such as the MIT Blackjack team... I thought it would be interesting to hear everyone's stories about their experiences in casinos and how well they did, didn't do and so on and so forth

I mine as well start...

My first real experience in a casino was Mohegan Sun in CT. I was stationed out there in the navy, turned 21, and went with my friend who was a pretty good gambler actually. I knew HOW to play blackjack but I didn't really know the exact structure on how to bet and when to double down split etc etc, and he basically sat next to me, we grinded it out for a while with my money, and by the end of it I left up around $500.

He basically didn't play, just sat next to me, told me when to bet high and when to hit, and took the free drinks from the waitresses for sitting at the table. He had a good gig. I never understood why management never cared that he did that, since I'm positive he was counting cards, but probably us only going up like $500 it wasn't worth it for them to do much.

My other experience of winning was at the wheel of fortune slots. I think I just went the casino with a friend and only had like $20 on me. I sat down at the big penny slot when some people got up, and put it in. After about 5 times of losing the 6th time i hit the wheel of fortune slot... I don't think i bet more than a penny or two which was unfortunate... anyways the wheel spun and hit the maximum 10,000, basically anything you bet was times 10,000.... so really I think I won like $500 or something like that from that... when I went with $20. Was probably the only time I've won at slots since they are garbage.

Anyway I've lost a lot too... mainly at the trump casinos around chicago... always seem to lose there... I got accused of counting cards at I think it was horseshoe casino before... which I sort of was but not seriously..everyone does it... anyway I left ahead only like $80 at the end of the night... but thats way better than losing

anyway, my favorite game is definitely blackjack... I suck at craps and roulette, which I've tried...

ok so anyone else have any fun stories? Maybe stories about a trip to vegas or atlantic city or something?

when i turned 18 my dad took my to some casinos in Arizona (yes it was illegal) We spent about 50 dollars losing at texas hold em. Then we went to the wheel of fortune slot, and I won 200 dollars, but then we lost it all 10 mins later lol. It was fun, I didnt lose a cent since he was buying. But overall it was pretty fun.

But overall i dont really gamble once and a while some casinos give out like 15 dollars to play, so ill go down and play a few games on them

On a cruise ship last February I played Roulette for about ... 4 hours on $20 and left with like $200. I went up and down like crazy, had as high as like $500 at one time. It was my first time playing, so I was learning all the different bets and getting a feel for it all. But, really it was a great time.

I'm not much of a gambler, but I'll go to Mohegan Sun from time to time for dinner and then swipe the player's rewards card. Won $250 once, which was a nice free meal. Once or twice I'd sit at a bar and just play the penny slots to get a bunch of free drinks and maybe lose $10. I'm sure it makes up for the drinks if anything though.

I used to be piss poor at blackjack and didn't realize how people could win so much. Then my friend passed along this chart thing on when to hit/stay and it significantly helped. I know it sounds like the pussy way out by relying on a book, but now I always come out positive every time I hit the casino.

When I was in vegas, I was 16 at the time. So of course, I put a quarter in and won five bucks out of it. Stopped after that, knowing that I'll never win again at slots.

But I'm getting pretty good at hold 'em. A bunch of us play together so when I turn 21, I think I might head down there for a good time.

I only play as much as I'm willing to lose, but sometimes I get lucky at craps and go up anywhere from 100-200. I've never won at a poker table, even though I really like playing. I lost 300 on a full house in AC... and decided to call it a night. That was the most I've lost I think.

day after I turned 18 my friends took me out to the casino and I took a guy for $30 bucks on one hand. He had 5's over Aces full and I had the other two Aces in my hand. He was pissed and I quit playing hold em for the rest of the night on account of the karma I was sure was awaiting me.

put 5 bucks on 17 and 35 or so on red/black (whichever 17 is). this was all i had, it landed, i cashedin 270 or something.

I know a guy who can clean up at any poker table, he goes to town with about £10 and comes back with £100s most nights. I hate him.
