It's funny to watch the election here in Newfoundland because our Premier who is a Progressive Conservative is running a campaign federally called ABC, Anything but Conservative. And with our Premier having about an 80% approval rating I wouldn't be surprised if the whole province goes Liberal. But it is possible that it doesn't. This being said, Harper's argument to Newfoundlander's is to tell us that if we don't vote conservative we won't have any representation in parliament and we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot. Sounds like a bit of a threat to me. Fun to watch.

I just realized I can either vote in Mississauga Streetsville, which will vote Liberal (Especially since the liberals are up against Wajid Khan) or in Okaville where the Liberals only won by a margin of 700 votes in the last federal election.

The same guy. He was a goalie for the Canadiens, as well as the winning netminder for the final game of the 1972 Summit Series. After his Hall of Fame NHL career, he became a lawyer, then entered politics. He's currently the MP for York Centre. He certainly had the name recognition to have done well. He's definitely not the "dumb jock" stereotype either; he's often accused of being a little too cerebral. Though his French isn't that good, the fact the Montreal Canadiens retired his number certainly would have helped his popularity in Quebec.

Unfortunately, like John McCain initially, Dryden had problems raising enough funds to make a strong bid for the party leadership. He fell in one of the earlier ballots and put his support behind Bob Rae before supporting Dion after Rae also dropped out of the running.

well i have to say.. i'm not happy with either party in this campaign.. but if i have to vote i'll go with Liberals..

Conservatives, many have stated.. are too closed minded..

NDP.. well they said they will close down the oil refineries in Alberta if they are elected which i find quite amusing, because were our money gonna be from if that is the case?

As for Green Party.. i donno man.. they gonna be wasting TOO much money on environmental issues.. prob will do something with Alberta's economy also

    if only ignatieff had won.
If polls are to believed, the Liberals are way, way, way back right now anyway. Barring some crazyness, I don't think the Liberals are going to be much of a factor for Harper this time around. Whether or not Harper gets a majority though is another matter.

I started looking into who was running in my area and to be honest Green seems like they're getting my vote.

Y'know, I keep getting calls from both the Conservatives and the Liberals bugging me to do surveys.

All I know is that I can't vote for Stephen Harper. I don't think Dion would do a good job, and I can't trust the NDP. Green it is....

    Dear Green Party Supporter,

I am writing to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting my campaign to be included in the televised leaders' debates.

Because of you and countless thousands like you who donated money and deluged the airwaves, the Internet, newspaper letters columns and politicians' inboxes with a national outpouring of outrage, the broadcasters have now reversed their decision to exclude the Green Party.

I am both humbled and inspired by what I have witnessed in the past few days – the exhilarating spectacle of Canadians rising up to protest a blatant injustice.

Your victory isn't just a victory for the Green Party, it's a victory for democracy and for the fundamental Canadian values of equality and fairness.

Thank you again for standing up for democracy.

    Elizabeth May, O.C.

    On a side note;

I'm tired of political strategy and always thinking twice before you vote, I'm tired of voting for parties I half believe in. I'm tired of constantly voting for someone because I'm afraid of what the 'other' party will do.

I want to believe in someone, I don't really believe in any party at this point. I'm afraid of not voting strategically, but if my riding deems it necessary to re-elect someone who crossed the floor then I'm doomed to bad representation no matter what I do. I'm only one single vote, and god help me will I no longer vote for something I don't believe in.
