I think Jack is quite possibly the best choice out of the three, but he's too much of a socialist for me to vote for him. I usually vote Liberal, because they are moderates through and through but I really don't like the turd sandwich. But the turd sandwich has always been better than the douchebag, and the likeable socialist is another issue altogether.

            Considering;

            Epinephrine
            Kolar
            Castromarx
            Cops
            Troll King
            Kim
            Adman
            Jeenyuss
            Pummel
            Jord
            Project dragon
            Soup du jour

As well as many other Canadians actively use this forum, I thought the thread had tons of relevance. If there was a group of 10-20 Austrians who actively post on this forum, and one person decided to start a thread about a federal election then I'd say that thread had just cause for being created.

You can do two things, learn about another country and their politics or get the fuck out of my thread. I'm fine with people from different countries talking about Canada and asking questions, but don't make innuendos that my country doesn't matter in a thread I wish to discuss a federal election. You're not Wark, show some fucking class.

Olivia Chow told me I had a cute t-shirt once so I'm all about the NDP. Actually, that's not why.

I always hated the Liberals until I saw what Harper did, even with a minority government. I'd be more than happy to welcome the filthy bastard liars in red back to be rid of the racist art hating fucktard that is our current Prime Minister. Still, the NDP isn't a wasted vote here so I'll be putting orange in the ballot box.

I didn't sense that from his post, Cops, but I am glad you started this.

I've really been dissatisfied with Harper and the Conservatives. He ran on a campaign of openness and won votes because of the Liberals' sponsorship scandal, but his government has been the most secretive and closed, and his election call comes timed so that it will come before the investigation on the Conservatives' alleged violations of election funding rules is due.

In particular, as a journalist, I find Harper's iron-fisted control over media access particularly disturbing.

Now that was unexpected. But let me assume you would not have surprisingly overesimated my contempt for canada to a point where it actually existed if you realy wanted to discuss a federal election. Instead i must reason your actual goal was to pick a fight and your supposition of my lack of fucking class was just the completion of your quest which started by this thread's creation. So in full conformability with this thread i will insult your mother if your next post doesnt contain some excuse.

cops i think fluffz might've just been making an innocent comment. i hope spider comes along and cracks an egg of knowledge on all of us at some point in this thread. i'll be voting for the ndp, but it's far more than likely the tories'll win it in my district (as well as the province for the most part). fucking prairies.

Our media hasn't done a great job of riding this administration as much as they should have, I hope people realize that this is just a waste of fucking money and vote NDP and Liberal in areas that are most likely to sway that way.

If I was Castro I'd vote NDP because you're most likely to see NDP pick up that seat.

I guess I'll wait to see if the NDP or Liberals are more likely to take the seat in my area and vote accordingly, I'm worried though, my MP is Wajid Khan the guy who crossed the floor and joined the Conservatives (fuck it pisses me off so bad that we voted him in as a Liberal). Khan still has huge support in my area from the Muslim community but hopefully people realize this douchebag doesn't represent you in anyway that a public servant should or could represent you. He votes against the beliefs of his own voters, and that alone pisses me off more than anything. Hopefully it's enough to piss people off to the point of not voting him in again... fucking douchebag.

What TK said is spot on.

Locally I would never vote for the Conservative candidate Wajid Khan because I believe he was involved in several of the Conservatives election spending scandals. He also crossed the floor from Liberal to Conservative being elected a Liberal several months before for some kind of Middle Eastern adviser position to the PM but it seems any report(s) he was supposed to create are now "top secret" or more likely were never produced.

I think all Canadians are thinking the same, they fear a Conservative majority because they appear to be for less openness, more corruption and mismanagement, more political bullshit and abuse of power on top of the extreme likeiness of a sharp turn to the right, which did nothing good for Ontario under Harris and Eves. But the Liberals are politically weak, out of money, poorly organized and are lacking leadership at the top. It's a bad time for an election when the opposition parties are not prepared and the outcome looks like it will be the same: a liberal or conservative minority.

It's too much money for one political party to decide for themselves when and if an election is called (the 2000 Federal election cost $200 million) but it appears the Harper Conservatives are not above violating federal law they wrote and passed if it means even the slightest possibility of a majority Government for their party.

(for our American and international friends: There is no vote for our Prime Minister/Head of Government. We vote in 308 electoral ridings throughout the country. The PM is the leader of the party with the most seats in the House of Commons.)

lets get some liberal signs, I think people are going to look and see what people are most likely going to vote (NDP, Liberal) and vote accordingly.

People who cross the floor generally don't do very well in the next election. It'll depend on how the opposing candidate manages in taking advantage of it.

My hometown looks likely to vote Liberal again especially with a former Liberal cabinet minister in John McCallum as the incumbent. I've recently moved downtown to the Davenport riding and it's my first election in a new riding. Davenport has been Liberal since the '60s. However, our MP Mario Silva burnt a few bridges in replacing his popular predecessor Charles Caccia. He'll likely get in again, but it's a pretty small-L liberal neighbourhood so I expect the NDP or even the Greens to improve from the last election.

EDIT: heh... I just noticed the leader of the Communist Party of Canada, Miguel Figueroa, runs in Davenport.

Look Canadian politics, finally I can tell point out my conservative views too a way too liberal Canadian government, and explain to them why Canada is such a terrible place to live. Wait.. I don't care about some other countries election since they don't really matter.
