I know that Mexican President Felipe Calderón's just announced that the U.S.-financed War on Drugs has had savage results in Mexico, and now he wants to decriminalize pot, cocaine and heroin possession.

About time they put a stop to that useless War on Drugs campaign.

On October 2, Calderón proposed legislation that would decriminalize drug possession, ostensibly for personal use. Not just for marijuana, as one might have expected in a country where pot smoke has not been demonized to the same degree as in the U.S., but for cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin, as well.

If passed, Calderón's legislation would decriminalize up to 2 grams of marijuana, 500 milligrams of cocaine, 40 milligrams of meth, and 50 milligrams of heroin.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

I'd love to reply to that 404, but I don't want to derail this thread from Canadian politics.

I think I'm going to vote Liberal. I wanted to go with either NDP or Green to boost their voice, but I honestly think the Liberal dude in my riding is the best qualified to do the job. Plus my neighboor down the street who ran for the green party last election is voting for him, and I have alot of respect for that dude. I really don't want Harper in a majority government situation.

At least with the Liberals, we could watch them fuck up, catch them. Harper's camp has been WAY too silent. He's almost a dictator by the looks of it. He also wants our drug laws to look alot more like the states (part of the reason i think hes pushing to merge with the states somehow). That would be a HUGE step in the wrong direction, and all just to gain favor from a country that quite honestly.. isn't doing that well at the moment. Really, if we need to base our political choices on our neighboors, then they aren't very good neighboors. Fuck, he is really stupid. Look at the overcrowding in the states jail-wise! How many people are locked up from smoking a fucking joint because idiot redneck politicians that smoked once in college think it's as bad as cocaine.

Harper scares me man, especially with the drug/young offender policies he wants in place. I swear if I hear that my cousin, father, aunt, mom, fuck anyone I know went to jail over smoking a joint.. yeah, Harper's gonna wish Canada had a secret service to match the states.

Frick, I wanted to vote Green, but all I see all over my riding are infinite blue signs. I can't have the conservatives win this riding, so I had to choose the incumbent Liberal...

Well, if you're voting against them, that only makes me more confident in my choice.

I voted Bonnie Crombie (Liberal) for Mississauga Streetsville. The Conservatives would like to get their hands on some of Mississaugas ridings, I'd say they'd have better luck getting Mississauga South then they do Mississauga Streetsville.

I hope this is nothing more than a dramatic lose for the conservatives
it makes me sick when i think of it, all my heroes could not live with it so i hope you rest in peace cause with us you never did

CBC says the Conservatives look like they're on the way to remaining in power but the final distribution of seats has yet to be determined whether it will be a minority.

The next federal election will take place in a year or two, the leader of the Liberal party and the Conservative party will change.

This huge political shit show will result in a Liberal minority, this just gets worse and worse.

Looks like a Conservative minority government.

Liberals will probably be voting for a new leader.

Also, Elizabeth May lost her riding. : ( Kind of hard to sway a conservative riding alllllll the way to the other side though, but she didn't do too bad.

i really hope ignatieff becomes the liberal leader although justin trudeau would also be a spectacular option. is he ready though? i haven't been paying much attention.

asdfghjkl Waterloo turned conservative by 73 votes.

                                I blame RIM.

Also, no Green seats. Does that mean they don't get to participate in the next debate ?
