Story 2:
There's a road near town called "Old State Road". Which is weird because it goes almost nowhere. It starts by going down state st (which is near the river that runs through the city) and eventually goes past some steel mills, a quarry, some railroad tracks, and leads to an old church, a 200 yr+ cemetary and a gravel road that goes for a couple miles before eventually ending on an interstate exit ramp.
Doesn't sound so impressive, but this ghost we were after was on some History Channel show on ghosts, so we figured it was worth the trip out to nowhere to investigate.
The story portrayed in the TV show was about a school bus accident from the mid 20th century. The bus stalled on some of the tracks and was hit by a train when it was full of elementary school children. Supposedly the ghosts of the kids would push your car off the tracks if it stopped on them. In the show they put a bunch of baby powder on their car and stopped on tracks. It rolls forward at a steady pace (not accelerating) and stops past the tracks. When they cut to looking at it outside, there's little handprints all over the back of the car and the bumper.
We decided to see for ourselves.
What we didn't know was that our friend (not accompanying us) had some personal history with the swamp off of old state road. Her uncle was found (in the eighties i think) dead leaning up against a cypress tree in the swamp. His car was found burned in a parking lot back in town, a few blocks from where the road you take to get to old state. Supposedly he didn't have any visible marks on him. Her grandmother was the only person who saw the autopsy report, and never told the family what the official cause of death was.
Back to the story. We head out around 11 PM (we didn't want to go too late, the cops are bad around there) to the place. We had also seen online that there was story about a bridge on the road, and a one for the church too. We thought we were in luck, 3 ghosts on one trip! We head down the road, past some industrial shit, and past a set of three tracks, and head into the woods. From there it turns to dirt road, and it's pretty thick trees in some places, swamp in others.
We get to the bridge. The story was you turn off the car, walk around it three times, and it won't restart. Ofc it didn't work, though we did think we heard a scream far off. We head down to the church, where supposedly a baby carraige would be sitting out front. Strike two. The cemetary was nice and spooky, completely overgrown, with bullet holes in some of the headstones. We head to the tracks in question, a good 30 mins at least from when we set out.
Turns out it was a long ass dirt road. We stop the car on the tracks. I had earlier thought that maybe it was on a slope, and that's why it worked on TV. No slope, in fact, the tracks were sort of the low point of the road. We wait, but no motion. We tell one of my fat ass friends who came along to get out, since he might be weighing us down. After awhile we realize it's creepy just to be doing this in the middle of a road in the middle of nowhere anyway and just leave. no ghost children's hands for us (i guess TV does lie). It takes a long time to get back to the paved part of the road, but once we get there we kind of haul ass. We get to the last set of tracks, when out of nowhere a single train engine comes flying past the tracks, just after we crossed them. We never even saw it coming, and the track warning shit didn't go off, or they might not even of had any. Close ass call. Ghosts? probably not. lucky? you bet your ass..fffffffff_____

I've got two ghost stories. I didn't see a ghost either time, and i'm not still sure i believe in them.
First story:
My friend's father was a part-time auctioneer. He gets this house to auction off, with all the stuff inside up for auction first. It's about 20 mins outside of the city, on a semi-rural road. You can't see any houses from it at night, but there are a couple within .25-.5 mi so it's not exactly in the middle of nowhere. No one's lived in the house for several months, possibly a couple of years. It's old, 2 stories with lots of doors that didn't lock.
With all the stuff inside, he got my friend to spend the night there so it didn't get robbed since they put an ad in the paper saying it was up for auction. We're told that a Civil War skirmish was fought not too far away, and that the front yard was actually used as a field hospital and camp for some of the wounded soldiers. We're also told it was haunted, but I really didn't buy into that stuff.
So after hanging around in the creepy house, doing nefarious things and watching a 10" television for a while we decide to go hang out in one of the other rooms. We take a look upstairs, where supposedly the ghosts were seen. I go upstairs, and sure enough it's creepy. Little girl's room complete with old ass rocking chair, and an attic crawlspace door next to the bed. We check out a couple of other rooms, but my friend was getting spooked, and there was nothing to do up there, so we went backstairs.
I hear what I thought was a meowing sound so i asked my friend and he said he heard it too. So we guess it's a cat and go look out the closest door to the sound. We didn't see anything around. We here it again while we're outside teh door, coming from inside the house. We figured it was possible a cat could have gotten in one of the doors that didn't lock, so we went inside to look for it. We hear it again a minute or so later, sounding like it's almost in the room with us. Perplexed, we listen closely, and the next time we hear it it almost sounds like it's under the floor or in the wall. We walk right over to where we heard it and waited. The next time it sounded, it was evident that it was coming from a medium sized trunk next to the wall (remember there was a lot of junk lying around to be auctioned). We thought, "No way a cat could be locked in that trunk." We hear it again and decide to open it up. It's full of toys and dolls, and when we get to the bottom, there's a stuffed cat. It's really old, and there's nothing in it besides stuffing, no noise making device at all! We put it back and waited a while, but we didn't hear anything again. No ghosts, no cats, but a freaking weird cat-ghost..fffffffff_____

I stayed at this place up on Lake Huron a few years back. When I went up stairs where the rooms were I saw a hand above a door at the end of the hall just hovering. It was completely visible not transparent or anything. Other people have told me similar stories about the same place.

Who is to say there are no such things as ghosts? Of course there could be...the fact that people believe in Jesus on a burnt piece of toast on ebay that sells for hundreds of dollars shows that anyone can believe in anything.
Personally I think the voices captured on EVP's are pretty cool. I have watched Jason & Grant and I find it entertaining to say the least. They also debunk what people assume are ghosts, of which I find to be a plus rather than assume anything that is odd must be a ghost. I am not a big fan of the guy from PennState...ParanormalState I think it's called? As for Most Haunted, this show cracks me up! I love the old architecture and tours through these homes and such, but what I can't stand about this show in particular is that every time these ppl hear a noise, especially Yvette, they all go ape shit and yell and scream, so nobody ever gets a clear audible.
I have never seen any ghosts, but I think everyone has experienced odd goings on sometime in their life that they can't explain. If someone can believe in god, why not a spirit?May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

Ever heard of something called Geocacheing or whatever? It sounds like something you might like to look up. It's some thing were you get a GPS device - the sort you'd have in a car - and you go online and people have secret places to find via coords. It's everywhere! You can find some really trippy party spots, hidden nooks and crannys. It's a paradise for people who enjoy that Frodo Journey (I so copyrighted this phrase long before the movies) type shit. People hide little containers and shit there, and you're suppose to take a token, and leave one of your own for others. Alot of addict Cachers like to have personal coins minted to mark where they've been. Kind of like tagging. It's something I'd try if I had the means and extra time.7:Knockers> how'd you do it Paul?
