What did you do to deserve any of the money that they spent billions upon billions of dollars to mine, refine, and transport? The US government gets 49 cents out of every gallon you put in your car, and they didn't do shit for it. Your state government gets 13-15 cents out of every gallon you put in your car. Maybe you should wonder why government makes 65 cents on every gallon of gas in America when they don't do anything for it. Of course, its much easier to just listen to an idiot speak and tell you how big business is ruining this country.
If you want to drive your 1994 Ford 150 into the ground and spend more for gas, who am I to stop you? The amount we drive and use oil is obscene for our population. I only drive when I have to. If all I need is milk at the store, I take my bike. You can pay the oil companies and the US government however much you want. I'm not going to.

Yeah, drive your bike to buy bread and milk, while in China the most popular vehicle is becoming the SUV because they don't care about Al Gore's global warming bullshit. And I will continue to drive my 2006 F-150 around and spending the money on gas. Because I work, so I can afford to, and the money I spend on gas hopefully will just be another American job saved. Go ahead and live your third world country life for all I care.

That 10% is really doing some damage.

Everyone pays their fair share so why should a multi-billion dollar company not do a little more or even do the current amount? There are so many ways to avoid paying corporate tax as it stands, some kind of reform up here and in the US would be a welcoming sign for any middle class American.

The co-founder of the Arab group in question, Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi, also has held a fundraiser for Obama. Khalidi is a harsh critic of Israel, has made statements supportive of Palestinian terror and reportedly has worked on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was involved in anti-Western terrorism and was labeled by the State Department as a terror group.

          -----------------------

But their company, Rezmar Corp., did come up with $1,000 to give to the political campaign fund of Barack Obama, the newly elected state senator whose district included the unheated building.

Obama has been friends with Rezko for 17 years. Rezko has been a political patron to Obama and many others, helping to raise millions of dollars for them through his own contributions and by hosting fund-raisers in his home.

Obama, who has worked as a lawyer and a legislator to improve living conditions for the poor, took campaign donations from Rezko even as Rezko's low-income housing empire was collapsing, leaving many African-American families in buildings riddled with problems -- including squalid living conditions, vacant apartments, lack of heat, squatters and drug dealers.

The building in Englewood was one of 30 Rezmar rehabbed in a series of troubled deals largely financed by taxpayers. Every project ran into financial difficulty. More than half went into foreclosure, a Chicago Sun-Times investigation has found.

"Their buildings were falling apart,'' said a former city official. "They just didn't pay attention to the condition of these buildings.''

Eleven of Rezko's buildings were in Obama's state Senate district.

Obama, now a U.S. senator running for president, has come under fire over his friendship with Rezko, who was charged last fall with demanding kickbacks on state business deals under Gov. Blagojevich.

Much of the criticism has centered on two real estate deals involving Obama's South Side mansion. In the first, Obama paid $300,000 less than the asking price for a doctor's home, while Rezko's wife paid the doctor full price for the vacant lot next door. Then -- a few months before Rezko was indicted -- Obama bought part of that lot from Rezko's wife.

But Obama's ties with Rezko go beyond those two real estate sales and the political support, the Sun-Times found. Obama was an attorney with a small Chicago law firm -- Davis Miner Barnhill & Galland -- that helped Rezmar get more than $43 million in government funding to rehab 15 of their 30 apartment buildings for the poor.

          ----------------

After days of largely ignoring the media blitz his former pastor has waged, Barack Obama reversed course and denounced the Rev. Jeremiah Wright in the strongest and most direct terms yet on Tuesday. It was a decision that may help him reclaim some of the initiative in a tight presidential primary contest, but it is not without risks.

The decision to specifically address Wright’s controversial statements came after the campaign maintained for days that Obama had said all he had to say on the subject - a sign that there has been growing concern that the controversy was damaging his candidacy. The result was not just a denunciation of Wright’s comments, but of the man who attracted Obama into the Trinity United Church of Christ, married him and baptized his children.

The turning point was Wright’s combative appearance in Washington yesterday at the national press club, where he stood by the comments he has claimed were taken out of context in press accounts over the past months. Wright maintained that the U.S. government was capable of acts of horror such as spreading AIDS through the black community, accused the government of committing terrorism abroad and called criticisms of such remarks an attack on the “black church.”

          -------------------

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr. of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, and Barack Obama's pastor since 1988, told his congregation in a sermon on Sept. 16, 2001, "The Day of Jerusalem's Fall," that U.S. terrorism had precipitated Al-Qaeda's attack. "We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye. We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards." Wright concluded that "America's chickens are coming home to roost."

          -----------------

This, though, is not Farrakhan's dream. He has vilified whites and singled out Jews to blame for crimes large and small, either committed by others as well or not at all. (A dominant role in the slave trade, for instance.) He has talked of Jewish conspiracies to set a media line for the whole nation. He has reviled Jews in a manner that brings Hitler to mind.

And yet Wright heaped praise on Farrakhan. According to Trumpet, he applauded his "depth of analysis when it comes to the racial ills of this nation." He praised "his integrity and honesty." He called him "an unforgettable force, a catalyst for change and a religious leader who is sincere about his faith and his purpose." These are the words of a man who prayed with Obama just before the Illinois senator announced his run for the presidency. Will he pray with him just before his inaugural?

          -------------

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” - Obama

          -------------

Wright, however, did not come under fire for comments made about discrimination or inequalities between blacks and whites. He was criticized for saying the United States deserved to be attacked on 9/11, that God should not bless America but damn it. And he referred to the United States in one sermon as the "United States of KKK-A."

          ------------

          Here's the transcript:

There are things you can do individually, though, to save energy. Making sure your tires are properly inflated — simple thing. But we could save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling — if everybody was just inflating their tires? And getting regular tune-ups? You’d actually save just as much! - Obama

          --------------

Pitching his message to Oregon’s environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to “lead by example” on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

          --------------

Yeah, great president with great values, morals, and ideas to run America. Cops I love how you try to insult Izor, Exalt, and myself, when both Izor and Exalt both serve in the United State's Army. I don't serve, but I am middle class America, and I think that I have a little better grasp on the situation than some "LOL COME GET STONED" Canadian liberal.
honestly i havent seen obama awnser any questions directly he just seems to tip toe around them. I think the last debate him and mccain had, truley proved who was the better canadite. McCain ftw

NoLimit, Nothing you've posted has anything ANYTHING at all to do with a political issue. All of that is campaign bits mostly bullshit used to attack him. It's all on the same level as the accusations that he is a secret Muslim, radical leftist and would enslave the white race.

But it does have EVERYTHING EVERYTHING to do with the fact that the guy who is going to be leading America, and choosing our next supreme court justices, and other members of his office, has terrible decision making abilities when it comes to the people who chooses to associate with.

But thats my point, when given an opportunity to express his point of view (obamas) he doesnt awnser the question. As far as policy goes, obama has no experience of foreign policy and his policy on illegal immigration is just as bad. Obama has no long term plan. Obama also voted against giving americans a tax break, however during the DNC democrats got gas without the tax. Guess whats good for themselves isnt necessarily good for everyone else.

Honestly the only policy or change that obama seems to believe in is being the first black president. Also if i remember correctly didnt he refuse to solute the flag?

No, he refused to wear the American Flag lapel pin, and he also changed the presidential seal so that it said "yes we can" in latin.. these two of course being only two minor offenses in his lack of love and respect for the country that he lives in. How about during the speech, when he refused to use the word president when talking badly about George Bush.. Whether anyone likes it or not, he is still our president, and deserves as such to be called President George Bush. Disrespectful shit like that might make some liberals, and small children stand up and cheer "YEAH DOWN WITH GEORGE BUSH" but the majority of Americans saw it as disrespectful, just like how now everyone is talking about how Obama was very disrespectful to McCain for his years of service.

Besides your hatered for black people, is there any other reason why you don't like Obama?

John MCcain has flipped flipped on more issues then Hillary Clinton. It's sad that we have to chose from Obama or Mccain, however chosing the lesser of two evils I chose Obama. Besides if that old bastard dies, we will have a women with about 3 years expierence running this country.

On a side note: Tom stick to the subject. If you did or didn't axe from a squad, what does that have to do with this thread?

obama has no foreign policy, and he wants people like you, who can afford health care, to pay for everyone else, including illegal immigrants. Don't you realize that under Obama the quality of the treatment she received will be reduced dramatically, thats all I am saying.
