  • More Street Fighter

EDIT Feb 2010: Yes, a new iteration for SFIV in accordance with Street Fighter tradition! This time... SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV (TURBO ALPHA ZERO IMPACT L0L)

    My PSN Gamertag: Rexkinghon

ORIGINAL POST: Today I played 3rd strike with my manager at work. We set'd up the match last week, and gamed for a bit. Nobody really came out victor, we were pretty evenly matched. (4:5 we weren't really fighting after the first 4 matches on our best characters, which was 2:2)

On the other hand, the Street Fighter IV console version is about to be shown next week at the Tokyo Game Show, which means it's near completion with a possible 2008 release. I know what I want for Christmas!! Oh and they're finally putting in Gouken, the master of Ryu&Ken; after being rumour'd to be in every single SF game since '93.

So who else is psyched about Street Fighter?!

    P.S. hey everyone

          Happy '09 everyone!!

          So the update:

Street Fighter 4 the game will be released
in North America on February 17th, and
in Europe on the 20th(12th in Japan =\).

Capcom has revealed that there will be three different packages for the game. The European release, the North American standard package and the North American Collector's Edition. The contents of the Collector's Edition are near identical to those featured in the European version. (Again, Japan has their own packaging and their own Anime DVD, check: http://www.capcom.co.jp/sf4/information.html)

-A comic book style mini strategy guide by Prima (the same people making the full strategy guide), featuring artwork by UDON.

-A disc including the animated short film titled Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind, produced by Studio 4°C as a tie-in for the game, and a selection of the game's trailers (a Blu-ray disc for the PS3 version and game disc with the movie in 720p for the Xbox 360).

          -A soundtrack CD.

-A Crimson Viper and Ryu figurines (in the US release, PS3 owners will get a Ryu figurine, while Xbox 360 owners get a Crimson Viper figure)

-Some sort of downloadable content (possibly character costumes).

Aside from just the boxset, both Prima and Madcatz are releasing their own SFIV collector's items.

Prima will be releasing the regular official game guide and the "Street Fighter IV 20th Anniversary Bundle: Prima Official Game Guide" on February 10th.

While Madcatz will be responsible for the official controllers and joysticks, with a 6-button pad, the regular "FightStick" and "Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition" which has Sanwa hardware, who makes joysticks for the Japanese arcade cabinets.

As a Street Fighter fan since 5 years old, I've already pre-ordered the collector's edition and the tourny style joystick(who can say no to a Ryu figure??!?!!?), just wondering who else will do the same?? =]

          P.S. hey everyone

P.P.S. The console character roster thus far:

          the original 12,
4 new characters Abel, C. Viper, Rufus, and El Fuerte,
          Akuma, Gouken(Akuma's brother, Ryu&Ken's master),
Fei Long, Dan, Cammy, Rose, Gen, and Sakura,
          and a new end-boss Seth.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! THE DAY HAS COME, LET ALL STREET FIGHTER FANS REJOICE!!

                  My story:

So I made the pre-order at a local EBgames on the 17th of December 2008 for the PS3 Collector's edition, and I've been informed that their shipment will arrive one day later than North America street date(Feb 17, 09).

Then two months past and the hype grew exponentially.

Finally, the fateful day came, on the 18th of February, 2009, where no phone calls were made to me regarding my pre-ordered merchandise. Concerned, I gave them a call, and was told they did not receive enough copies to fulfill my order, and that I'm more than welcomed to pick up the standard edition. And at this point, I was aggregated yet calm, so I inquired more. As it turns out, the collector's edition was produced in limited quantities, and that it was unlikely for them to receive another batch, however, this was unconfirmed and that I'll have to wait until they have a final answer from their head office. Seeing how there is still a minute chance, I opted for waiting.

After giving them 48 hours to sort out their problems, I decided to contact them once more. So on Friday the 20th, luckily, I was able to converse with the manager, and that she has already dealt with the situation and I should be expecting my copy of the PS3 SFIV CE as soon as a day's time, or on Monday, if the "day" happened to be a "business day." Either way, she said I will receive a call when it comes in.

Overjoyed was I, my patience had paid off, and Street Fighter and I will reunite with brand new soundtracks, a Ryu figure, and a load of down-right-fierce!!

So here we stand today, on the 20th day of the 2nd month in the year 2009, EB has finally contacted me, and informed me of my beloved item has arrived. After all the footwork, not to mention it snowed again today here in Toronto, Canada, I am typing to you all in front of my computer with the boxset sitting in front of me, in all its glory and form(I haven't taken off the shrink wrap yet).

Now who else got their copy and are already enjoying this game??? This time, we can fight online!! $$ But I don't intend on playing the game until my joystick is available, which it isn't until March 19.

                  P.S. Happy Street Fighting!

                  P.P.S. hey everyone
