Starcraft 2 - the Trilogy!

I'm really excited to say that Starcraft 2 is going to be sold as 3 separate games now! That means we get to pay for 3 games to get the experience we used to get on 1 CD-ROM. So, after I'm done with the Terran campaign, I get to go and pay for the Zerg campaign, and then finally finish it up with a last payment to get the ending on the Protoss campaign.

I hope each game at least gives you full Multiplayer functionality, or else you can potentially be locked out from using the armies in multiplayer you haven't bought.

I was very happy to see that they are doing it like this. Main reason is that this means that SC2 will come out faster. Each campaign features around 30 missions, and a new, much deeper way of progressing though them. This is something that takes alot of time to make. This means that we don't have to wait for them to finish up Zerg and Protoss before we can play online. This is what Blizzard said, and it makes sense. Most likely it will take around a year after initial release to get the second mission pack out. I don't know where you got that you would be limited in multiplayer from, that's flat out wrong. You get the full online experience with one game, but when the other campaings are finally done you have to pay for them. Most likely you won't have to pay full price three times. Besides, 30 missions per release is a good amount of missions for a single RTS release. Expecting to get 90 missions on release is your own fault for having unnatural expections.

Not to mention that it's pretty awesome of Blizzard to put so much effort into something that can so easily be pirated. You only need your first game to play online. Most game developers cuts away the parts of the game that is too easily pirated, and they should get the credit they deserve for creating it anyway.

Even if it was as you said, I'd still happily pay for it. Even if i payed 3x the price of a normal game per expansion those money will still bring me more fun than any other games. It is Blizzard, and they've created some of the best games in the history of everything. Almost every other company is trying to rape your wallet anyway.

Interesting interview, looks like they are going to make it more than just new campaigns, but actually make them as expansions. I love that they are going to improve replays with tons of stats.
