  • Upcoming Actors/Actresses to keep an eye on

Quarantine topic (eagle eye talk specifically) made me think of this -

Alot of prominent actors for the past couple of decades are really starting to show their age, and I personally don't think there is a huge amount of talent in Hollywood at the moment to fill those shoes in the next couple of years. And I'm not talking about someone that's good in one movie, I'm talking about actors and actresses with a score of good movies to their name. People that will (some have) been in good movies for 20 years or will be in alot of movies over the next 20 years.

Harrison Ford, Bruce Willis, Denzel Washington, Jack Nickelson, etc etc- they're all getting up there in age. So to put it simply, out of the younger generation (10-40) who do you think we should keep an eye on? Who do you think has amazing talent and has a bright future ahead of them?

    Actors
    --------
    Christian Bale
    Aaron Eckhart
    Shia LeBouf
    Leonardo DeCaprio
    Hugh Jackman
    Will Smith
    Matt Damon

    Actresses
    ----------
    Rosario Dawson
    Rachel Weisz
    Jennifer Connelly
    Catherine Zeta Jones
    Radha Mitchell

Those are the ones I can think of for now. Gimme yours!
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

I know they have, but I'm talking about passing the torch, so to speak- after the current greats have died out

it's fantastic that alot of them have done well, I just want to know who people think will continue to do well as time goes on

Andrew Garfield had an impressive performance in Boy A.
Emile Hirsch was really good in Into the Wild.

Can't think of anyone else atm.

                    Gael Garcia Bernal

                    (this guy)

And he's already kind of arrived, but I respect Josh Hartnett. Oh and this guy (he's also been in quite a bit of stuff but most people don't recognize him):

boo. they tooked my hotrinked image. it's Giovanni Ribisi.

I agree that he has acting talent, but Shia LeBouf needs to stop doing movies where he just runs around like a chicken with its head cut off (Transformers/Indiana Jones/Disturbia/Eagle Eye).

                      So much scurrying!

And several of them and other now popular actors/actresses/producers/directors started with Freaks and Geeks.

Also, Emile Hirsch, Kristen Bell, Evan Rachel Wood, Jason Ritter, Kristen Stewart, etc.

If Will Smith is in that list, I'm putting Brad Pitt.

I'd say that a majority of the names listed in this thread are people who have already made it and may have peaked in terms of potential.

I want to throw the name Jay Baruchel into the ring.

He played the young actor in Tropic Thunder and had roles in Knocked Up and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Another member of the Judd Apatow crew as the lead in Undeclared, he made his start on several Canadian kids shows, most prominently as a co-host of Popular Mechanics for Kids opposite Elisha Cuthbert.
