I had decided to download this, but when I saw it on Steam for 50$ I decided to pay up. 50$ isn't much for a game, and Steam makes it effortless to actually get the game. I now don't have to worry about finding cracks, or changed game content, and it won't be a problem to access the online features either. I'm guessing that everything will be working for a pirated version somewhere down the line, probably even everything online with a pirated server, but I wanted to just play the game asap!
It IS nice to know that I don't contribute into further fucking over PC gaming by buying the major products though. I've always pirated everything, and as a direct consequence console gaming is stealing games that is supposed to be proper PC games. I've always been a PC gamer, and I always will be, I realize that in order to get more titles on PC I have to buy the games. I don't mind anyone choosing to pirate games, I've always done so myself, but if you do you can't complain when the next big PC title suddenly is Xbox 360 exclusive.
I got a pretty good computer, 8800 GTS, 4gig good ram, 3ghz dualcore and Vista, and GTA is running awesome on almost highest settings. I'm pretty sure that I can tweak the performance quite a bit, but for now I'm happy just to be playing the game as it is. I've liked the little I played so far, but there is one thing that is bothering me though. Since this game came out to consoles first (sigh), the PC version is just a port, and you notice this when you play. GTA San Andreas is actually better in some ways because of this.
Rockstar is just being arrogant and stupid regarding that announcement. I'm guessing that the game is already cracked, it just takes some time to clean up all the fake cracks so it will become easy to find the right crack. I just got this game through Steam, and there are some security measures that is noticable. Mostly it's just annoying shit that slows things down. It doesn't do too much though, but still I don't want a pirated version of a game to be better just because all the anti-piracy shit is fucking up the legal version.
Why do I always end up writing long and serious posts when there is threads about other games?
