Drizzt is great, but Salvatore is turning him into an emo Drow, which is just plain wrong. Jarlaxle is a more more interesting Drow and comes a close second to Artemis in the Forgotten Realms world.

I really hope Salvatore writes more about Artemis and Jarlaxle. The Sellswords series are 3 of the best fantasy novels I've ever read, and I've read just about everything.

Have you read Steven Erikson? I've tried Forgotten Realms, Drizzt and stuff just pales in comparison, can't get into it.
