Ahoy! Long time since I did a thread so I thought I might as well create one.

Where do you live? Suburbs? Skyscraper? What are your neighbors like? Young students who party all night long or old ladies who whine about any little noise you make?

I live in one of the most (probably most) high populated areas in the whole of Finland, in a 7 story building. I live here with my housemate and best friend Horgh. As we both are young we like to party and every so often, usually every week we end up at our place with some friends after the bars have closed to continue the party. Luckily this whole building seems to consist of basically young people who don't give a shit. I can only imagine the noise level/sound we've been making at our best...

Personally I really don't have anything to complain about our neighbors. No one really seems to give a shit. Whether someone is having a party on wednesday at 4am or someone smokes in their apartment, no one cares. The only minus I have to give is that somewhere in our building there's an arab who likes to play the flute (badly) and sing "wonderwall" VERY loudly - and for at least 15 minutes with a terrible voice. Luckily this doesn't happen too often.

Personally I'm one of those who doesn't care if someone is listening to loud music or arguing with the wife or whatever at 3 am, earplugs exist for a reason

    How is it for you?

I live on the first floor in an apartment complex. I think we're the only ones who are Norwegian that lives here. The only thing I hear at times is kids crying/screaming. Also the fuckers stole the official "no spam" sticker on our mailbox and put it on their own mailbox which was like 30cm away. Apparently not master criminal minds.

i live in a house with my gf, in a small rural town. Neighbours are mostly families who have been in the area for generations. It's a good old-school community.
I also spend time at my mum's 40 ha farm, surrounded by state forest.

I live on the 23rd floor of my dorm, which is an honors dorm so it's not too loud. The suite next to mine on the right is full of anti-social male engineers who never make noise. On the left is a bunch of anti-social male mathmeticians who like to play Guitar Hero and Rockband all day while blasting their sound system in an attempt to look like they have friends.

Generally the whole dorm is pretty quiet, due to it being an honors dorm and all. The RA on our floor is pretty chill though.

In a 2 bedroom studio of sorts sectioned from the bottom of the house where 3 girls live. One of them's the gf, one deals weed and the other one's cool.

My neighbor is actually sitting next to me right now. He's the only neighbor that we really hang out with, because the others are kind of stuck up/weird.

Cool set up. Only a 15 min. walk to school. Cheap too.

I thought this would be a thread about the movie "Neighbors" well worth a watch..especially with a buzz on.

Belushi and Aykroyd at one of their finest moments...a bit dated though.

Belushi's last film....and Cathy Moriarty (Raging Bull ..Jake LaMotta's wife)was hot as Ramona. She didn't age well though if you see her today.

I live in a house with neighbors on both sides...neighbors are cool at both locations...live in two homes...traveling back and forth....renting one of the homes come next month. One house outside of Philly...one outside of Vancouver.

Looks like I am staying in Philly.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

Haha no, but this is the alias he uses when he (rarely) plays subspace.

Someone had puked in the elevator last night!

Currently living in a house with 3 of my friends and one exchange student from China, and 2 randoms in the basement. We get along pretty well. On one side is another house with students, but we don't see or talk to them much. The other neighbor I think has a mental disorder (that is what the landlord said) and stands outside his house for long periods except in the winter in which we rarely see him.

House is about 10-15 min. walk to the university, and 2 minutes away from the bus stop (students at our university pay about $40/term to ride the bus, not a bad deal).

Well I say hi when I see em locking up in the morning when we leave at the same time, but obviously since you don't live in Houston you couldn't possibly understand the amount of ghetto trash still living in Houston even in the very nice apartments I live in. Somehow they are still getting or living off their FEMA money so. If you had to deal with this you wouldn't talk to your neighbors either.

Right now I live in the student area of the city ('the pijp'). 2nd floor and never really talk to my neightbours.

Last week we bought a 'typical' city centre canal house. Very exciting..

I live in a small neighborhood with two doctors, a lawyer, our school district's Superintendent, and some dentists/mba/engineer folk. It's a nice place to raise kids with a really good public schooling program, but there isn't a ton of social interaction in it compared to the clubs and events we attend on our own. The age disparity is much to be desired compared to what I grew up with.

I grew up in a very close community. We were all immigrants and very middle class, so we knew we had to rely on each other if we were to save for our higher education and beyond. I liked that feeling now that I think about how my community feels at the moment. Every day I hope that I'm doing the right thing for my children based on where they're growing up. I want them to live a better life than I did, but at the same time learn to be independent. Not only is everyday a learning experience in this town for them, but it is for myself as a parent.
