No, the reason most pot heads are dumb fucks are because they have addictive personalities and can't live without some sort of alteration to their state.

I smoke just about as much as any quantity wise, but do I do it constantly? No, I save it for when it would be totally awesome to smoke. If you are constantly high and silly, it's just like being a constant drunkard. No one is going to take you seriously and no one is going to think you are intelligent, because you most likely aren't.

All your philosophical thoughts have been thought before, and either debunked or discussed by someone that I've studied or will study. You have to realize that smoking weed doesn't make you smart, it just makes you think you are.

It's fun to drink alot on the weekends (or on weekdays, whatever), but if I were to just get black out drunk every night I'm sure I would either be dead or in a rehab center. Life is about moderation and knowing the proper time to do everything. 3pm on a Monday is never a proper time for anything.

Interesting. Well I hope that wasn't directed at me seeing as I haven't smoked in 3 years and have never been a pot head.

Also, the philosophical thoughts I've had may have been thought of before but the philosophers I've studied actually support them. For example, Socrates and his cave allegory. Or, Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit. Just two off the top of my head.

Edit: Btw, I should have said "people who smoke weed" in my other post, not "pot heads". Obviously the label itself proves they have a problem with addiction and therefor most likely will not be on top of their intellectual game.

Also my architecture teacher told me all the guys he knew back when he was in school would blaze the fuck up all the time and get better grades than him when he was the sober one of the group. And architecture is like the third hardest degree to get.

well i don't really ever smoke anymore, but i used to quite a bit. and i don't know about you guys, but when i smoked weed, i never got these out-of-body experiences you're talking about, and i sure as hell never felt any smarter. usually (always) when i would smoke, i'd just become a completely dumbass, want to eat everything in sight, and laugh hysterically at the stupidiest shit, pretty stereotypical. so royce i guess i can't really say that i know where you're coming from

and someone else said earlier that the majority of "stoners" you meet are fucking idiots. well in my case, this is a whole load of bullshit. this probably isn't the greatest example since i'm at a decent university, (which means that in general, people are fairly smart) but i'm really the only out of any of my friends who doesn't smoke. the funny thing is, the ones who smoke the most (3-5 times a day) are actually the smartest. the one who smokes the most of them all aces almost every exam, is enrolled in the honors program, has a 4.0, and scored a 35 on his ACT. but like i said, these aren't the greatest examples, and i've definitely met some stoners who are fucking idiots. i guess my opinion is that it isn't weed itself that makes a person any more or less smart, it just seems this way because the people who are idiots to begin with are a lot more likely to start using the drugs then the ones who are naturally more intelligent.
