Mac as a stationary sucks, don't even consider that.

But as a portable laptop where you don't need to play games on it, it's way better than regular laptops. If you somehow need Windows one day, just dualboot or use VWware. Macs are overprized, but the laptops are really good.

The only PC brand that I'm avoiding is Acer, the build quality of the ones I've experienced are rather crappy. Maybe the later ones are better, but I'm still skeptical.

I was talking about the screen, learn to read. Everyone knows Sony makes awesome screens. And I can tell you out of experience, that the Vaio screens are way better than your average laptop screen.

Do you want to screw around working on a PC or using it? Buy pre-built. 1k is plenty. If you go the Mac route- look into refurb/clearance/previous gen to save a little money. Get 5% cashback if you login to Discovercard.com and clickthough their ShopDiscover section. Any semi-new Intel Mac is going to be dual core and more than enough to play TW. Save your keyboard because the Apple keys (arrows and Ctrl) are probably too small.

You're a busy guy, and unless concrete is going to build the computer for you then just buy a pre-built system. I'm all for building your own computer but like others have said if you don't know what you're doing, or you don't have the time then don't bother.

Also, people need to learn how to use a mac before they knock it. For gaming I'm obviously going to use my desktop that has windows on it, and for video editing and designing I'm going to use my mac. The funny thing is that my macbook is a dualcore and my windows desktop is a p4. It might be a mac but the thing packs a huge punch.

Also don't be retarded and spend ridiculous amounts of money on a computer you don't need, think realistically when purchasing a computer. If you want more space, think about spending $100 on an External Hard Drive. If you can play all the games you want to play then why are you spending a thousand dollars on something you don't need? I want a new computer but I know that there's only one or two games that I want to play that would require me to go out and purchase a new computer. Also dualcores are pretty sweet, but if I'm going to buy a computer I'm doing so to not have to purchase one for several years, which means I want a quadcore.
