They got the message. The US isn't going to interfere unless they force the US into action. I doubt we'll see any more US boats getting hijacked. The Pirates aren't just going to stop, especially when they're making this much money. Even so, they wanted to test Obama and he sent the SEALs in to deal with it. My guess is that we continue not to get involved unless it involves US citizens.

I don't know how much truth there is to this statement but I know for a fact that European ships have been attacked, hijacked, robbed and whatnot for years now by Somali pirates. It's funny to see that now that an American vessel has been attacked everyone is suddenly all over it.

I'm not sure how many American ships are sailing in the area, but the Gulf of Aden is principally a gateway to Europe from Asia and vice versa, plus it's a pretty long way from America as well. So I'm guessing that an attack on an American ship is statistically small anyways.
